Morning all! And I hope you all had a Merry Festive Season! Just so's you know, today's 12 Days of Big Finishmas special offer is a Dark Shadows Dramatic Reading (although this one's very full casty) the wonderful Phantom Bride. It's one of the first ones I heard and it started to hook me into the series good and proper. I imagine many of you will have it, but for anyone who doesn't you can get the download for £2.99 for 48 hours. www.bigfinish.com/news/v/the-third-day-of-big-finishmas-special-offers-on-dark-shadows-the-phantom-brideI have a very great affection for the Tony and Cassandra stories and this is a personal favourite.

The story sounds interesting, but would you be able to listen to it without much, if any, background knowledge or without hearing any other Dark Shadows audiobooks?

The story sounds interesting, but would you be able to listen to it without much, if any, background knowledge or without hearing any other Dark Shadows audiobooks? I think so. This is one of the (if not the) first I heard and I had no problems. Basically everything you need to know about their relationship comes across fom the liner notes and the dialogue. He's a private detective, she's a witch. They have an adventure. What's not to love?

I bought it today and just listened to it. It was terrific. I hate to say that it was so much better than I was expecting it to be. I think it's my favorite Tony and Cassandra audios. It really is "full casty" (I love that, Rob). I don't think you need to know much about Dark Shadows to listen to it, other than Cassandra/Angelique is a witch with a very dark past.

May I ask why she's known by two names, or is that spoiler-y and/or explained in the story?

May I ask why she's known by two names, or is that spoiler-y and/or explained in the story? Her real name is Angelique, but at the time Tony appeared on the TV show she was going by the name Cassandra.

I picked this one up. Now I only have 10 more to go until I have all 50 of the audiobooks. I have all of the full cast stories.

May I ask why she's known by two names, or is that spoiler-y and/or explained in the story? It's actually part of the original series: {Spoiler} In the 1795 flashback, we are introduced to her as Angelique. She appears in the present day, 1968, as a brunette, married to Roger Collins and calling herself Cassandra, apparently so that nobody will know she's actually Angelique, alive again. She actually uses a couple other aliases as well, later in the TV series.

I bought the Tony and Cassandra Mysteries series one and enjoyed it immensely some tales were stronger than others as you’d expect .Then I invested in the other single releases I did love The Devil Cat and the Last Stop and very much enjoyed The Phantom Bride. There is a lot of mileage in their adventures apart from the main body of Dark Shadows and it is interesting as it could be a jump on point for some being apart from the main mythology.A witch a private detective and a mystery.Excellent stuff
