Hallo Mods and interested people -
The "BBC Audio" board has always been a bit ambiguous as to whether it's intended for discussion of BBC Doctor Who or BBC audio in general. Meanwhile, BBV have started producing material recently, Cutaway Comics have obviously got big ambitions
and there are occasionally discussion of old things like Faction Paradox, and fan audios.
So, can I suggest that
1) the "BBC Audio" board is closed, with discussions moved to "Other Audio Productions", with BBC added to the description, and
2) a new board called "Other Doctor Who Audio" is opened, with the description something along the lines of "BBC, BBV, Cutaway Comics, Magic Bullet, fan productions, etc".
Of course, if it's easier, it would probably not be a problem in the long run to simply rename the "BBC Audio" board and not worry about moving things, but that's up to them that knows about these things!
Anyway, I hope that's considered a useful suggestion. I'm not familiar with all the production companies mentioned in the "Other Audio Productions" description, so if any of them are creating DW or DW-related material, then necessary adjustments would be needed.

No. We can just use the not big finish audio threads.

To be honest I don't see any conflict ...
BBC Audio is for audio produced by the BBC and is wide ranging in scope as the BBC produce a wide variety of material. Discussions of non Big Finish Doctor Who audios made by the BBC would generally appear here.
Other Audio Productions is for everything else... i.e. not Big Finish or BBC.
Closing the BBC Audio board doesn't make a lot of sense as the BBC probably produce more audio content than all of the smaller independent companies put together.

Hi, thanks for responding; but I think you may have missed the main purpose of my suggestion.
At present, threads relating to DW and DW-spinoff audios (not produced by BF) are scattered across three or four different boards. I suggest that they should all be placed together in one, as relating to a common theme and to ensure they're not missed; I'm sure there are plenty of people on this forum who aren't aware of what's going on in the world of spinoff audio adventures.
My suggestion to close down the BBC Audio board was really just a tidying-up exercise consequent on having a dedicated non-BF DW board; I have no particular objection to everything BBC Radio-esque having its own home (though I'm not altogether sure the level of traffic justifies it) but this is really a secondary issue.

See, if we had a board to discuss these things, you might have spotted that piece of news months ago.

I have always found it a bit weird that BBC get their own board. It would have made more sense to have non big finish doctor who audios and then a section for non big finish non doctor who audios. As it stands theres doctor who discussions in both because the bbc arbitrarily gets its own thread - why not audible why doesn’t that have its own thread, it has a ton of audio original content etc etc.
That being said i don’t expect it to happen, it would be a huge undertaking when not a ton of people use the non big finish sections anyways

why not audible why doesn’t that have its own thread, it has a ton of audio original content etc etc. I was under the impression that Audible is just Amazon's shop front name for its audiobook sales/rentals, not a creator of original content in its own right. Same as Kindle for e-books.

I don't think there's a real demand for this tbh.

Thanks for your thoughts, fitzoliverj and others. There is no plan to change the current groupings at this time.

Coming late to this thread unfortunately and the discussion looks to be closed, but I think there is some merit in the suggestion. As a best of both worlds halfway house, would it be possible to create a Dr Who sub-board within the BBC audio board or else a Non-Dr Who sub-board within it.
I personally like the use of sub-boards as I think they give the forum more structure and make things easier to find
