This is an appropriate question since we are getting closer to those cold winter evenings.

Well, I have lived in NZ. Over there, central heating and building insulation have not been invented yet and you would have been lucky to have at least a wood fire place. So in NZ, thermal underwear, wooly hats, hot water bottles and blankets while watching TV would have been the way to go. Plus I had a cat, who also worked as a second hot water bottle. Of all of these, I have to say the cat was my favorite, since it also came with a relaxing purring/fibrating function. Now, back in Germany, insulation and central heating are back. You just switch it on and all worries are gone (although, with rising energy prices at the moment, one might have to think about if one really wants to heat all rooms or maybe just the lving room). I am however still in favour of my trusty old NZ hot water bottle. Hotties are still great for battling cold feet in bed.

I’m a jumper man myself. Strangely enough, I’ve never been one for dressing gowns.

Warm clothes. Layers that I can add or subtract as needed.

Snuggly socks. It's amazing how your body feels warmer when your feet are no longer blocks of ice. Otherwise it is layers, a mug of cocoa with a splash of whisky or brandy, and hugging a hot water bottle while listening to or reading something entertaining. (Preferably without that howling wind sound effect in it.)

It would be nice to know exactly who voted for what. I wish there was a way to see that in the poll.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

(Preferably without that howling wind sound effect in it.) Warm socks are great. Also warm slippers. I like these. I'm on my second pair (repaired the first pair so I'll still have them but bought a second pair on sale when the first pair started opening up at the seams after many years of use). And I have a third pair that I wear at my daughter's house, when she stopped wearing hers in favor of a similar slipper with a rubber sole, as she was afraid of slipping on the carpeted stairs in her house.

I just bought a navy blue dressing gown from M&S. It’s to be used as a reserve for my grey one. The blue one doesn’t have a hood which is a bit disappointing, but I liked the colour and fleece material. It also has pockets and a belt. It will be nice to wear after a shower and when lounging around on the mornings and evenings trying to stay warm.
I also bought a scarf from TkMaxx, also to be used as a reserve to one I already own.

Decided to reopen this discussion as the weather is getting colder, in the northern hemisphere at least.
Central heating and dressing gown/bathrobe are my choices.

My record so far has been a 38C/100.4F night in Summer time, waking up at 3am and I honestly went and had a shower.. In terms of cold it has officially hit -1C/30.2F in my hometown and I really felt it on my bald head when I took my beanie off . My body temp is always warm, always in shorts/tshirt at home. Wife is opposite so she has the heater on 18C in winter, it warms up the whole house.
