I'm usually not a fan of Chibnall's titles but this one sounds pretty good imo
Also, first time we have a Halloween special, right? Even Big Finish did not make one of those if i remember correctly. (well except the Eric Roberts youtube exclusive, i guess)

Don't get why some complain about the title. Like, they do remember this is Doctor Who, right? Pyramids of Mars, The Happiness Patrol and Invasion of the Dinosaurs are a-okay, but this one's crossing the line?

Okay, that was pretty funny. Very deadpan.
And someone made this observation:

Don't get why some complain about the title. Like, they do remember this is Doctor Who, right? It's because it is Doctor Who! Doctor Who 'fans' will always find something to complain about. If they stick to just moaning about the title we'll have got off lightly...

I wonder if the fact that they haven't sent out review copies to anybody means there's a Jo Martin moment in it. I don't mean specifically an appearance by her, but something big they're keeping secret.

Oh, I would love some more of Jo Martin! Looking forward to this! Just bought the iTunes season pass and I really hope the episode unlocks for me tomorrow at Midnight. That would be sooooo awesome.

So... this is a tough one to talk about.
It's like Fugitive 2.0: all setup, Act 1 of a Six Act story, rather than a proper story unto itself. Until we see where it goes, it's hard for me to really say if it's actually good. It was entertaining, John Bishop was fun, but man, this one's a very different creature to 11 and 12. Even Mysterious Planet from Trial was more its own thing than this as a first story.

Poll Added/Spoilers OK
Only Criticism with it honestly too long on the "Aren't the Doc and Yaz Clever and Funny" bit it feels forced.
Intros to new characters were very good
New Sontarans seem to be a good mix of old and new
Solid start

Well, what with all those pumpkins plot elements, it was a bit of a squash inthere...
It's difficult to judge the episode, since it's unclear what's actually going on. But anything involving the Chibnall Mythology is automatically going to get a black mark from me, and I can't work out why those dogs are trying to save people, so I'm inclined to lean towards 'bit of a mess' at present. Also, somebody ought to explain to John Bishop that an ordinary bloke from Liverpool would be *frightened* if he was kidnapped into space, not slightly annoyed.

I have no idea what to make of that. A series of loosely connected events most of which completely lack any kind of context. It’s clearly all setup, but god knows for what.

First off, the pre-titles sequence really didn't do it for me. It was okay as a way to introduce Karvanista, but it wasn't the best it could have been.
However, the rest of the episode was a huge step up from the previous two series. The Doctor and Yaz have improved massive as characters, it feels like Jodie and Mandip are finally comfortable in their roles, Dan's great already, as is Vinder, and I'm glad everything's been introduced early on.
That being said, this episode did still suffer from some of the Chibnallisms of Series 11 and 12 - those being 'something happens, character immediately states what just happened'.
On the whole though, I'm interested, and I'm more excited for the six-part story concept than I was before I saw the episode, as I think it'll allow the show to pace itself properly. A great first part, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. 7/10.
