What? I didn't see anyone reintroduce extirpated cats or spray themselves with anything. Which is a shame, since the Sontarans are (apparently) sensitive to gases, and the allied powers were using poison gas in the Crimea.

Well that had well portrayed Sontarans, Whittaker on fine form and lots of intrigue. Thumbs up from me.

We should be thankful they didn’t do An Angel Of The Scutari and avoided the usual WW1 and WW2

Interesting. I always understood that the British and French used poison gas of some kind in hte Crimea, but subsequently banned it after it blew back towards their own lines. However, a quick Google shows some dispute amongst historians as to whether shells were actually used, or merely offered for use.

For someone who didn’t totally enjoy the last few seasons and I haven’t even finished all the episodes of her first season Jodie came off so much better in these two episodes.Everything about her initial run of stories was almost disposable for me and only a few episodes got rewatched whereas i have interest to watch both these episodes again..Swarm and Azure have intrigued me and i hope we do not learn TOO much about them they have mileage that hopefully outlasts Flux

Enjoyed that. Nice to see Sontarans being the main villain of the piece and not being used as just comic relief. Jodie was on top form, she had some really good material to work with. Dan continues to be a great addition to the team. Shame that Yaz didn't get to face the Sontarans properly, but the Mouri plot-line was intriguing, looking forward to seeing how that develops next week.
My main gripe is that the resolution (interfering with the gas lines and getting them to retreat) was a bit easy, though the General taking matters into his own hands helped to improve that resolution a bit.

Loved it. I enjoyed The Halloween Apocalypse but there was so much going on that it was hard to have solid thoughts as the one episode. This has plenty of intrigue, but feels substantial in its own right too. Loved the pre-titles (particularly the first scene), Whittaker on blistering form, great use of the Sontarans and some genuinely cracking one liners.
John Bishop just gets it, doesn’t he? It’s the same for the other comedians who’ve portrayed companions; they bring something special to the role and to the show.

Am I alone, though, in thinking that Dan! Dan! Dan! is a bit of a parody of Donna? My mind went straight to Alan Partridge!

I thought we might have a more subdued episode after the epic first episode but although not quite as hectic this pretty much maintained a similar pace with more mystery, switching between characters & locations, & a great celeb historical element. Swarm & Azure are fantastic new villains & there's certainly an element of Sapphire & Steel about things with time the enemy. The Sontarans were brilliant, threatening but also with some well judged humour that didn't distract from their menace. Who the hell is Swarm & Azure's ominous looking new friend The Passenger?
But I guess there will be some fans who think the show is now too wok lol
& can we take a minute to appreciate that epic shot when Dan climbed the crane & the camera pulled back & back to reveal all the Sontaran spacecraft.

A version of the Lungbarrow house? That was my first thought as well. And you're not alone - seeing a lot of folk on twitter share the sentiment.
(Obviously, it may not be, but then, nobody saw the Morbius canonizing too, so...)

I did not like this ep.
Because I BLOODY LOVED IT.
Chibnall, you are 1/3rd there to a really special run. Its exactly what I wanted from Broadchurch Chibbers - every ep has a plot, but the story (not just an arc, a full story) bleeds into every ep.
Oh, if we had this style in 2018...

Nesitt and a thousand more.

Oh no, The Passenger isn't going to turn out to be The Doctor are they? Just a thought that came to me.
