Honestly thought there was more likelihood of them doing Doomwatch over something as obscure as Timeslip. Honestly think its down to the rights being more clear cut on Timeslip Regards mark687 I'm sure it is 100% a rights issue.

More of a environmental British X-Files, right? I'd say more than any "British X-Files", which I think might mislead a bit, it's got more than a bit of an inspiration of Island Of Terror in it, or a slightly updated Quatermass tone, both of which featured ecological aspects at various points with boffins and science saving the day and a very modern message of man being the most dangerous thing on Earth. The Tigon Doomwatch movie is very, very Island Of Terror. And of course the show was created by Gerry Davis and Kit Peddler. Wonder if they've done any other sci-fi? I'm sure - convinced - that if BF could do it we would have seen it before now. It's top tier, there's no way Nick has spent over a decade inquiring about ranges and properties and Doomwatch hasn't been up there near the top of the wants list.

John Nolan who played Geoff Hardcastle in series 2 is still with us. If BF could ever do Doomwatch he would be a nice link to the original. Head of Doomwatch maybe?

Maybe he could get his son Chris to direct an episode... 😁

This would be a bit of strange idea and would need careful writing to make it work but I think it would be really interesting to do a modern reinterpretation of tv show Bewitched that would be less sitcomy focusing even more on the culture clash between humans and witches as well as adding black comedy, surreal elements, more world building, and deconstruct Darrin and Samantha’s relationship. Sort of like the reinterpretation of Adam Adamant lives. This could either be a less idealized look at the original 60s/70s setting or put in modern day. I always thought that show could work well given a modern spin because of all the sharp social commentary with fantasy elements in the original and it would be interesting to see a more modern version of it. Big finish is good at reinterpreting older genre shows so I think this could be a good fit for them 😊

Honestly think its down to the rights being more clear cut on Timeslip Regards mark687 Doomwatch came up on podcast emails (around August 2018) and Nick's reply was that he'd love to do Doomwatch but there wasn't a market for it, or something like that. I remember because it was my email he was answering.
At the time and since that has struck me as a bit odd - I'm really not convinced by the argument that there isn't a market for Doomwatch, but there is for Timelsip, Adam Adamant, Omega Factor, etc.

The thinking that there's a large Market for Timeslip intrigues me, its an OK show but its not as memorable as those other ones BF have done, or even its proper contemporary's such as Ace of Wands or Children of the Stones. Regards mark687

I'd agree - Doomwatch was, and is, a bigger property. Though maybe with the cost of licencing to sales ratio that's where the issue is. If they sold less of Timeslip but paid much less to licence it...they could have a smaller but more profitable market for it. I know that's been the case with a few properties Nick has mentioned where they could get the rights but they'd need to sell so many to make money out the deal it wasn't feasible.

Unusual one here - By The Sword Divided
The original TV series is great and dealt with the political upheavals of the English Civil War and ended with Charles II's restoration in 1660
The star was Tim Bentinck who has done loads of BF already. A 3rd series could be set many years later in 1680-88, starting with the Exclusion crisis and ending with the Glorious Revolution

Yes. Get to it, Big Finish! In the style of the Torchwood range would be brilliant. A series of monthly audios with one or two of the cast scattered across the timeline and then the occasional boxset with different groups of characters. The only issue is so many of the most intriguing characters are sadly no longer with us.

It's never, ever gonna happen. CBS, Showtime, Frost and Lynch are uber-protective of Twin Peaks.
I also don't think it should happen. We got a majestic third run and I think we've got the exact right amount of TP that we need. I'd hate that world to become overdone. Though anyone who has read Frost's two books on the history of the town knows there are a LOT more stories that could be told, part of the point is not knowing the stories.
I am 100% sure it's just a Lynch fan at BF giving a shout out to a milestone of one of the greatest TV shows ever, nothing more.

But, that said, as a fan of the series and Lynch's work, I think it would be amazing if he'd take a chance like this to experiment in the audiodrama format. And it would be interesting to explore some of the details, as you say, from Frost's books. In the style of the Torchwood range would be brilliant. A series of monthly audios with one or two of the cast scattered across the timeline and then the occasional boxset with different groups of characters. The only issue is so many of the most intriguing characters are sadly no longer with us. The Torchwood main range model (Dorian Series 1 and 2 or the Dark Shadows readings also come to mind) would be the ideal format to explore a property like this one, yeah, nothing too big should be told outside of TV. And, even though we have, indeed, lost some of them like Catherine E. Coulson, Don Sinclair Davis or Bowie, we still have people like Michael Horse, whose Deputy Hawk I'd love to be further explored. At the end of the day, it's just a bit of harmless daydreaming, of which David himself is so fond of. Although I wouldn't be opposed to it if it did happen... if and only if David and Mark were involved, obviously.

Yeah, I don't think anybody that is a fan of Twin Peaks would have seriously expected that tweet to be a tease of anything. It'll never happen, but it's fun to speculate and wonder how Big Finish would approach it. Indeed, the first thing that came to mind was the Torchwood main range model, or indeed the Dark Shadows readings, being absolutely perfect for Twin Peaks.
I am personally in agreement of the three seasons and film, especially the incredible The Return, being the perfect run for Twin Peaks... for the main story with Coop and his investigation into Laura's murder and the events that stem from that.
I certainly think there's scope to explore the other characters and lean more heavily into the soap / kitchen sink style elements that the show often incorporated. For example, a farce with Lucy & Andy or dropping in on Denise investigating a case (backdoor for an X-Files range!). I certainly wouldn't want or expect dealings in the Red Room or picking up where The Return left off. It would absolutely have to have David and Mark's involvement.

Actually, a Lucy and Andy soap-y/sitcom-y exploration incorporating some of the elements Lynch used in Rabbits would be quite interesting, especially for audio. Again, I'm very curious as to what Lynch's approach to full-cast audio would be like. I was thinking about it the other day, actually, while watching a video of him talking about writing and ideas for moods and all that stuff he usually talks about.

I don't think I'd want an audio series either, I'm satisfied with Season 3. It's beautiful. But you can bet your sweet bippy if there was a TV Season 4 announcement I'd be over the moon. I kinda feel like if that's gonna happen it's got to be soon or never.

Wouldn't mind the BF treatment of "The Warriors".. Would be adult, the novel is more R rated then the actual movie..
"Can You Dig It!!!!!!!!!"
Will never happen, but would be awesome IMO.
