Tbh i like the timeless child arc it adds more mystery & questions about who is the Doctor.
What i don't want is another flipping multiverse, Marvel, DC done it to death so please not in Doctor Who, i don't want a Good version of the Master turning up, or insulate Britain Cybermen protesters or tree hugging Daleks.
I reckon the Doctor sacrifice her past selves knowledge to save the universe, it'll be it's not who i was but who i am now & I'm the Doctor i save people, the Doctor will most probably throw that fob watch into the Flux to save the universe.
Overall a enjoyable season & Jodie killing it as the Doctor.
4/5.

I don't see what the big deal is about the multiverse. It's just another way of saying "parallel dimension/universe", and we've seen those in the past on a few occasions (dating as far back as Inferno). Why's the inclusion here suddenly the straw that broke the camel's back?

TBH, I think a 'Doctor Who' multiverse was on the cards already, especially with what's occurred lately in 'The Haunting of Villa Diodati', 'At Childhood's End' and 'Farewell, Sarah Jane' (and no, I will not get over them!)
But hey! A 'Doctor Who' multiverse! Jim Carrey's Master might appear in a future 'Doctor Who' episode!

Speaking for myself I don't care, its going about trying to make the entire history of the show meaningless, And you've still got the contradiction of a Pre Hartnell version out there in an OG version TARDIS, Regards mark687 Like i said enjoyed it. I get everyone’s points Doctor Who Stopped making logical sense years ago when they started leaving hundred of years of Gaps so that future writers could fill it in with any nonsense they like I feel the show runners see an image in their head and then create the story...digging up the TARDIS scene ages ago...looked cool makes no sense.Barbra Flynn telling Doctor NOT to look for this place. Then Bringing her there the next episode.ALL great looking stuff and wonderful acting scenes but nothing makes any sense.I really think the last episode the co written one was probably good because of the co writer. Now all they have to do is have Peter Capaldi in the shower and it has all been a dream. What i will give Chibnall is he did attempt something quite epic and changing but am not sure it has worked though i must say i have ran with it gave it a shot and enjoyed all the various ideas he has thrown into a big pot and stirred...lets hope someone can come along and actually work out what the recipe is actually meant to turn into. and its fiction it can all be unwritten lol and made sense and this actually is only series were i have enjoyed Jodie as the DoctorYes at least this time its written with chances where she's doing her very best to sell the situations the Doctor's in. Why's the inclusion here suddenly the straw that broke the camel's back? I think at the moment its the toss away nature of it and we haven't yet established if our Earth/Universe is meant to be the Prime one. Also where are the Guardians and Elder Gods for all this? Agreed its a tangible narrative but without much of an idea of the priority it wants to put on its stakes and with 1 EP left no claer path to resolve any of them. Regards mark687

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Again, I loved it: my issue was that this is clearly part of the story where the episode reduction has harmed the storytelling because it all felt rushed - but really clear as to what was going on - and there was a lot of getting characters into place for the final chapter, which has ruined a lot of penultimate volumes of fantasy series for me. Unsurprisingly, given his experience at long-form drama, Chibnall seems to be handling it all really well. I hope he keeps it going for next week because this has been a blast.

I don't think I like where " Flux" is going, but the episodes look really good and there's some really cool stuff in there. Just when you think, Hmmm ... this isn't actually bad, Chibnall then throws a grenade in to the mix and you go WTF?!!! It's almost like Chris Chibnall's idea of marking his mark on Doctor Who is to piss off as many of the fans as he can before he leaves!!!
Next week will tell a lot.
Considering how he successfully fractured the fandom for good, consistently lost viewership & long term fans and even made the BBC desperate enough to get RTD back to save the sinking ship he has done a real bang up job The fans have never required much work to get them “fractured”. The current debacle is just the hangover from the Sick Puppies fiasco of almost a decade ago, which was itself Act 2 of Gamergate. The IP is unimportant: these guys - and it’s almost always guys - just want to knock stuff down.

Overnight Ratings 3.82 Million So was the jump up a result of the positive feedback on last week's episode? Or is it the bad weather and Omicron keeping people indoors?

Unsurprisingly, given his experience at long-form drama, Chibnall seems to be handling it all really well. I hope he keeps it going for next week because this has been a blast. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. I’m loving it all, but apart from War of the Sontarans and Village of the Angels, it’s hard for me to truly know what I think of each individual episode. And I think that’s because the episode reduction has altered the structure, so we seem to get a “main plot” episode with “arc” episodes either side. Of course, they’re all arc heavy and they’ve all got events that are exclusive to that episode, but it’s about how each individual episode is structured. I’m excited for The Vanquishers, but I think there’s too much to wrap up to do it justice. With 10, or even 8, episodes, I don’t doubt the Grand Serpent, Azure & Swarm would all feel better integrated, and the Doctor and Tecteun material might amount to more than exposition (as much as I enjoyed it). Having said that, it’s also the way Chibnall writes his Doctor Who. Certainly during his tenure. It’s very cinematic and very visual, but he’s almost writing as though people are watching whilst scrolling through Twitter or ironing or whatever. The dialogue recaps what’s happened a couple of scenes before, as if we don’t know, or we’re told “Doctor look” and that tells us we must look. I suppose what I’m getting at is that the running time could be better spent and perhaps it would seem more frantic, yet feel less rushed. I appreciate that’s an oxymoron! For example, Moffat would’ve done the whole Yaz, Dan & Jericho travelling stuff as a pre-titles, and they’d have spent the episode exploring the tunnels and the different times and places they present. Instead, Chibnall favours spending the full episode going from place to place and in the end, it feels rushed, but ultimately they’ve not achieved a lot.

While I love most of their work, RTD and Moffat are very different writers to Chibnall. I can totally see and understand how the structure of the episode has bugged you but I love looking at the choices made by different writers when they’re telling their stories. I won’t be certain until next week, but I think there’s a reason we’ve jumped ahead three years in Yaz, Dan and Jericho’s story and spent so much time on the lead up to the discovery of the tunnels and it might be as simple as getting to see what they’re like as a team, or letting us know that they’re suffering despite having a clear plan as to what to do, which builds up the stakes for us a little more. It’s also a lighter, breezier tale than what the Doctor is going through - despite them being thrown out of time and away from everything they know - or what Vinder, Bel and Karvanista are having thrown at them so it stops being quite so grim and dreary.

It’s not that it bugged me, it’s more that I think that the episode reduction has definitely had an impact on the storytelling in that it feels frantic and rushed. Yet also I think Chibnall’s style of writing doesn’t necessarily correlate. The Yaz, Dan & Jericho was an example where on the face of it it’s very rushed and frantic, hopping from location to location, and it not being wholly clear what they’re actually trying to do at first. But then in the end it doesn’t seem to achieve a massive amount so it’s actually rather pedestrian and Moffat, for example, would’ve done that in a pre-titles. I do agree that there is likely a reason for the time jump and potentially one for why such a big lead up, but I can only comment on what I’ve seen. And that was just an example. I could’ve easily chosen the Doctor’s interactions with Tecteun and how they tend to recap what happened only a few minutes before in their last scene. What I’m getting at is that, despite the reduced episode count, the running time could be better spent and perhaps it would seem more frantic, yet feel less rushed. Although, as mentioned, I appreciate that’s an oxymoron! It’s not even a major criticism, I’m loving Flux, more just something I’ve noticed really.
