(sees who's writing it, decides not to pre-order it) I have to agree. It takes a lot for my anticipation of the 9th Doctor Adventures to turn to 'what is this?', but that's exactly what happened when I heards Ravagers. Camces are I'll get this, because I love the 3DA team, but I'll certainly wait for the reviews first.
That cover is a cracker though - straight out of the pages of a 1970s Doctor Who annual. Lovely!

Preordered months ago
Excellent cover and a good premise I know that some people here are dismissive of Nicholas Briggs writing this but when you realise that he wrote to the death, creatures of beauty and dark eyes it’s more comforting besides he really has a passion for the 70s Version of Doctor who and I think given his love for that era it might turn out to be a good audio

War Doctor Vol 1, Anti Genesis Glad to see Anti-Genesis getting some love. One of BF's absolute best releases imo, not a dull moment in it. Also worth noting that Alan Barnes (who co-wrote Anti-Genesis with Briggs) is script editing The Annihilators.

Briggs is a very solid writer for me at least, so I look forward to this. I admit I was hoping for an arc based run for 3, but maybe another time!

(sees who's writing it, decides not to pre-order it) In my case, sees who is writing it and hopes that it'll be as good as The Conquest of Far... as that's my favourite 3DA so far.
I am also a Fan of Conquest of Far and though i wont say its my favourite i do love it but i have real fondness for all the stories in the range so it is a preorder for me but it never really was up for debate 😂

As much as I love the Third Doctor, I'm not too hyped about this announcement. Briggs is a bit hit and miss for me and it doesn't help that it's a 7-parter... Anything over four is stretching it, IMO. Also given that we only have two Third Doctor sets next year, it's a shame that one of them is being taken up by one long story.
The cover is nice though.

As they say proof is in the pudding.yes it is ambitious and yes we might have known the first 7 parter would be from the guy everybody seems to love to hate he probably got the urge to try it from Flux being attempted.

I think I may be more inclined to give Briggs the benefit of doubt here than some of ya'... most of bist stories tend to be decent, at least, but when he's good he's very good. Granted I haven't listened to everything, but I feel like it's been a while since he wrote anything completely terrible. And honestly? I'm kinda in love with this premise. Small town on the coast with something creepy/weird going down? Locals who are potentially involved in something supernatural? A full 180 minutes to explore everything? Could be really, really good. Especially if we get some really fun, oddball characters to bounce around w/ the locals. SEA DEVILS!!!

Sunday's Podcast has a small excerpt of Part One it sounds rather good, performances from Daisy, Tim and Jon are really good as Liz, The 3rd Doctor and Brigadier

It's nice tease as well, I feel like this is going to be a pretty strong story.

Also worth noting that Alan Barnes (who co-wrote Anti-Genesis with Briggs) is script editing The Annihilators. I think Anti-Genesis is bloody awful personally. It just regurgitates past story ideas and adds absolutely nothing to them; little more than Who incest!. The thought of Barnes collaborating with Briggs on this makes me even more apprehensive, although The Annihilators does seem to be relying more on original ideas than Anti-Genesis, so that's a start.

I didn’t mind the boxset overall but I must admit it did get a little too self indulgent for my liking. I mean, I don’t mind The Master quoting the odd bit from Genesis here and there but it got ridiculous when every secondary character started doing it.
