I could quite easily see the impression growing on me. Didn’t take long for my ear to adjust to Bradley’s portrayal after all.
Wish Mr Noonan the best of luck regardless.

Noonan has the mannerisms and vocal tics down perfectly and they picked some great clips in the trailer to showcase his performance. Much as I love Bradley’s portrayal, this already sounds much closer to how Hartnell played the part.
Big Finish has far more hits than misses when it comes to the First Doctor’s era anyways, in my opinion. Yeah, I’m definitely willing to give this a shot!

I'd say the closest that anyone at BF has come to Hartnell's voice, as much as I like Peter Purves' Doctor. So strange to suddenly have a new First and Second Doctor after all this time though.

Oh, I was expecting more criticism, to be honest. I don’t think it’s very good at all. Reminiscent of what an exaggerated impressionist would do, a la Spitting Image, than trying to capture any essence. I certainly don’t get anything like what Mark Wright & Nicholas Briggs mention in the news piece.
My preference would always have been to put David Bradley with the original companion actors and/or give him some original companions. As it stands, it feels like we’re worse off. We’ve still got Bradley paired with the AAISAT cast in a meandering range that never quite knows what its doing and a cast that don’t reach their potential. And we’ve got this new range with a new Doctor that isn’t as good as the other First Doctor they’ve got!
I’d be interested to understand the reasoning behind this. It’s not as though Bradley isn’t an on screen official recast and it’s not as though Big Finish haven’t used him in other things.

From what Briggs has said in Vortex, and judging by the 1DA banner image, sets with both Noonan and Bradley will be released from now on, rather than one or the other being the 'current' First Doctor.

I think he sounds great.
By no means perfect but he gets the tics and mannerisms of Hartnell which is something Bradley just didn’t do.
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few weeks we get another announcement saying that the AAISAT cast will also appear in this and that Annette Badland is playing the Celestial Toymaker.

There's a Rumor that Bradley has said he wouldn't do that as a regular thing and would prefer to work only alongside the rest of the AISAT Cast. Regards mark687

One minute I'm trying to take seriously suggestions that Annette Badland will be voicing the First Doctor, now this! This 'new' Old Firstie takes a moment or two to get used to, but the intonations and verbal tics are spot on. Dare I respectfully suggest he might even stumble over his words on occasion? I'm a massive First Doctor fan and always felt the occasional faltering was part of the character and not a veteran actor under pressure to remember a cartload of lines every week.
As was said above, this is the closest we've come to William Hartnell in all the years of Big Finish. Like with Fraser Hines, I hope Peter Purves is not too put out that his version of the First Doctor will now be used less.
And yes, this is another pre-order!

Eh, soundalikes tend to be pretty hot or miss for me, and from what's in the trailer, this is a big miss.
Bradley may not have perfectly emulated the sound of Hartnell's voice, but he replicated the performance extremely well. I'm sad to see him gone. The new 1st Doctor sounds even further away from Hartnell and the performance barely even registers to me as the 1st Doctor. Especially the last line in the trailer--about getting his coat. It sounds inexplicably angry to me. I'm not getting any of that imoishness/playfulness I associate with the 1st Doc.
I'll give it a chance, but after the last soundalike recast, I'm keeping my expectations pretty low.
