Sounds like the trailer doesn't show off the better parts of Noonan's impression. I feel a bit harsh for my initial reaction so I'm going to try and go into it a bit more open-minded.

If anyone's interested, Noonan has responded to pretty much every comment on the YouTube announcement trailer, and it's clear he's really enjoying doing it but that he also would like to develop his impression further. He seems like a really great guy. |

The Outlaws feels like it's specifically targeted at me. Medieval setting, outlaws, historical, and the Monk... I can't wait.

The Outlaws sounds like a lot of fun. I know it’s been a while for this incarnation of the Monk but I could see him being quite miffed with the First Doctor considering he’s the one who stranded him in 1066! And the Miniaturist sounds intriguing. Certainly not the sort of story I was expecting.

Apologies if anyone else has already said this, but Stephen Noonan has quite a physical resemblance to Hartnell as well. Put him in costume with a wig on and I reckon he could pass as well, if not better, than Hurndall or Bradley

He sounds a lot better here to me as well, and I didn't mind the first teaser! Mannerisms and cadence are down for sure, I think pitch is the one thing that needs work, but that comes with more experience.

I feel bad for Stephen Noonan i can tell he put a lot of effort into his impression judging from Nick Brigg's Comments in The Podcast and his research is admirable however the impression
is simply too far from sounding like Hartnell and honestly if it wants for the image of Hartnell in the trailer i would struggle to identify who he was playing its nearly on par with Jacob Dudman's 12th Doctor and that was the worst recast Big Finish ever did
Honestly if i was working with Big Finish i would have gone with Siobhan Gallichan the person's First Doctor impression is as amazing as Jon Culshaw's Impression as The Brigaider

I was a Baker for 5 out of my 9 years at Coles Supermarkets... I can confirm this is true.. Very annoying, wrong weather for it too..!

I am so torn about this release.
In both trailers I feel like Noonan sounds just like Hartnell at times but then 3 seconds later absolutely nothing like him. Such a shame as i'd love some more 1st Doctor stories to enjoy. I do love Rufus Hound as the Monk though so I may dip my toes in after I have heard peoples reviews of the entire story and not just a few clips.

Personally I think we are never going to get a perfect soundalike who gets it right 100% of the time, but for me at least Noonan's Hartnell is close enough for an audio release and I expect it will improve even further in future releases as he gains in confidence and experience.
