Very interesting response from Stephen.. What did he say, what did he say (I'm not in Twitter so it won't let me see)? 🙂 "Hello Ben! I’m delighted that you - after initial reservations (“I always have reservations!” - Tom Baker) - came to enjoy these stories. This project, I knew right away, was not going to be without its difficulties. But Resistance - in this, as in so many other areas - can, ironically, be far from Useless! Ultimately though, it’s got to be an acting performance, not an ‘impression’; and the quality of that will only become clear when the narrative is considered as a whole. Trailers can’t really do it justice; moreover I think it’s been generally agreed that the first one put out was a little misjudged. As a first experiment, however, this has been fascinating. My enthusiasm for the programme meant that, once offered, there was no way I could have turned it down; and then obsessively to try to take it to the max. I was particularly looking forward to your perspective, as my old friend Rob Whitelock - who’s performed and written for Big Finish - had spoken very highly of your videos. Although I enjoyed the high-jinks of the Outlaws; like you, I was especially intrigued by the surrealism of the Miniaturist, and the unusual opportunities it afforded to push the Hartnell Doctor into more unfamiliar territory. This, I believe, Is a process we’re going to pursue much further. Take care, Ben - and thanks again for your very kind words! SN "

Thanks for providing all that 🙂. Apart from being a brilliant First Doctor, I'm coming to the conclusion Stephen should also be Big Finish's PR person!

Well, the actor seems to be a really nice person. I love artists like that. I still could not really get into these audio adventures... but that might just be me being weird.

Nah, I get it. But it's also just *more* reason to hope he grows into the role and that the range improves over time.
Though if they're really gonna keep up with the David Bradley 1DAs... oof. I do not envy Noonan that position--it just means people will never stop comparing their performances.

Castellan

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

Listened to this finally.
Brliant. Noonan is wonderful. Not a pitch perfect impersonation, but absolutely nails tbe character as played by Hartnell.
Thie billyfluffs had me laughing out loud and were the icing on the cake. I wonder if they were scripted or part of Noonan's performance?
