Hawa Hassan is terrified of flying. However, to make the most important audition in her life, Hawa’s braving boarding an aeroplane. After all, it’s just one flight. What could possibly go wrong?

Liked the premise of this, thought it made for an interesting story and well read by Ayesha Antoine. Unfortunately I didn’t think the prose or the reading got the Tenth Doctor across very well, which was a shame.

And again Shallactop, I think I disagree with most of you points, but not too much. I thought the prose was really well done and I did get a lot of the 10th Doctor throughout, but Ayesha Antoine's reading and the story itself didn't quite connect. I definitely would be happy to hear more from Paul F Verhoven though.

I thought it was a good story and I enjoyed the premise, but alas, I wouldn't have known which Doctor it was if I hadn't heard the theme. I really had a hard time tweezing out that it was Ten. And trying to work that out took me out of the story on more than one occasion.

I didn’t think Ten was characterised that badly. His behaviour towards the start is a off but that’s explained adequately for me. That said I did find myself losing focus for a bit midway so may have missed something weird.
I’m not particularly sure of the logic behind emotions literally powering engines. But I suppose it worked for the resolution.

The fear of flying part was quite vivid. Should this not come with a trigger warning?
The story was quite humorous & clever, & wonderfully read by Ayesha Antoine, who does a good characterization of the struggling actress as well as a person who has a phobia of flying.
