I've really enjoyed Stranded and I'm looking forward to the final set, as always anything written by John Dorney is top notch. I have no idea where the story is going after set 3 and I'm really excited to find out the new direction for future 8th Doctor Adventures.
Does anyone have any ideas where we will find the 8th and companions at the end of Stranded and what we can look forward to in future?
I feel the ground is being laid for Liv Chenka to leave the TARDIS either in happy circumstances with Tania or in tragedy after great loss.
I like Helan and think she would benefit from being a lone companion for a while, there's certainly a lot of Character development that can be revisited from The Red Lady and Absent Friends.
I enjoy the Darker damaged 8th Doctor but it would be nice to see this balanced with his happier thrill seeker side.

Liv & Helen, great as they are, have been around for quite a while now and I would guess some kind of shake-up in the TARDIS crew is probably coming sooner rather than later

Yeah, as much as I love and adore Liv Chenka, I also think she will be leaving. I am actually fine with dark 8th Doctor stories....

I think Paul has given some amazing performances in 8s darkest moments, I feel he is perhaps the most tragic Doctor, his split from Charlie and then losing Lucie and Alex makes me wonder how much more loss he can take. I hope when Liv and Helen eventually leave it isn't another tradegy for the Doctor, especially with the horrors of the Time War in his future.

I definitely think Liv and Tania are staying behind in London and I doubt Andy is coming along with them either. Stranded has really made me appreciate Helen more - not that I disliked her before, I've just really enjoyed her interactions with the Doctor lately - so I'd like to see her and the Doctor travelling alone.
But even if the Doctor leaves Baker Street alone, I'd like to see him with a single companion again!

I think the 8DAs, across the board, are due for a shake-up companion-wise. Liv and Helen are great, but I think it's time for one of them to move on. I think I'd prefer to keep Helen a bit longer, though, as they really haven't done as with her as they have with Liv (even ignoring the Robots range). And on the other side, we have Bliss in the 8DTW range, which I expect/hope will continue. I do like Bliss, but I think her presence is a bit of a problem for the range--her presence on the TARDIS creates a familiar status quo, and the Time zwar is not a setting where you should really have familiar status quos IMO. Anyway, I think Stranded has been amazing so far, so I'm confident that whatever comes next arc-wise will be good. As for what I'd like to see... I dunno. I've been surprised too often to have any confidence in what would make for a good or bad direction to take. It's all down to the execution. One of my favorite stories from last year arose out of what I'd thought one of the dullest possible premises, after all. I can at least say that I'd welcome some solo stories for the 8th Doctor. McGann really hasn't had many of those, has he? I generally find solo stories tend to be pretty interesting, so I'd like to see more with 8 -- especially exploring the darker periods of his life post-DE. Yeah, as much as I love and adore Liv Chenka, I also think she will be leaving. I am actually fine with dark 8th Doctor stories.... Have you had a chance to listen to Peladon yet? It's amazing. The 8th Doctor story, The Truth of Peladon easily ranks among McGann's best, I think.

Won't be getting this as i discarded Stranded from my collection as it didn't appeal to me. Yep when Stranded was first announced rather than purchasing the CDs like i did with Ravenous i just got the download and boy i am glad i did because spending anything more than25
i just hope the 2022 8th Doctor Audios are a fresh start with no continuing companions/leftovers from Stranded, i must admit i was foolish enough to pre-order the CDs for them but if it turns out to be a continuation with the same old companions ill just order a refund before it gets release

But do we know those November and December sets are a continuation on from Stranded? I am expecting them to be Time War related, but that is just a guess on my behalf, as TW4 was left on a cliffhanger and I would expect the next era for the Eighth Doctor to be bigger than six hours.

Yup but the story arc hasn't engaged me, luckily i own all of the Fourth Doctor ranges so this a minor sacrifice. Because BF release in those horrid bulky CD cases i need the space for other box sets.

You know, I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing the Eighth Doctor travel alone for a bit after the events of Stranded. With there being subtle hints that this is all building up to the calm before the storm that is the Time War.

A big shake up for the Eighth Doctor is required, I think. I'm so fatigued by Liv and Helen and I think any refresh they showed in the first Stranded has since been squandered; I really don't want them having another chance to develop Helen further or grow Liv beyond the sarcastic quippy caricature she's inherited since Ravenous. There's been 32 opportunities for that since Doom Coalition ended. As for what I'd like to see next, I'm not actually sure because there doesn't feel like a natural next step; it could be anything and everything. I loved the portrayal of Eight in the recent Peladon set and his best Time War stories have consistently been outside his own range, so maybe him going it alone would be nice? I wouldn't be against River coming on board for a while either; Alex and Paul have such great chemistry and their pairing in Doom Coalition really hit its stride towards the end. Of course, you inevitably have to have the Doctor forgetting, but if it's built up and effectively executed I don't have an issue with that.

Liv is one of my favorite companions. Like, ever. But I was already okay with her leaving at the end of Ravenous 4 and I really thought that was going to happen. I'm more than ready te see her go by the end of Stranded. Nicola Walker is a truly fantastic actress and I'm glad we've got two more Robots sets coming. But she's been around the Doctor for almost ten years now, I won't be sad if she leaves in the last Stranded box set. I think it's time to move on as well.
As for Helen, however, I too have really enjoyed her dynamic with Eight in the Stranded saga and I'd love her to stick around for a little bit longer. Maybe just have Eight and Helen travelling together for a while, without Andy, Liv or Tania ? Not that I disliked Helen before, in fact Liv and Helen are probably my favorite TARDIS team along with Zoe and Jamie. But she's really grown on me in the Stranded saga, probably because it's the first time this team has had the chance to breathe and spend time together without the universe ending every episode, like it was the case in Doom Coalition and Stranded. Helen is probably the one who's felt the most like the Doctor's companion in Stranded, given Liv's been spending her free time with Tania, while Helen's been the one helping the Doctor the most.
So yeah, I think it's time for Liv to go as well, but I'd rather she just left to spend the rest of her days with Tania. At this point, every companion of this incarnation has had a tragic death or departure, I think Liv dying would break his heart. However, Helen can stick around if you ask me.

I also agree that it’s time for Liv to go. I love her, she’s one of my favourite companions. But The Robots and Stranded are absolutely leading to an exit arc for her so if they end up keeping her around it’s just gonna seem silly.
I don’t necessarily want a clean slate for the Eighth Doctor yet. I’d rather he travel with just Helen for a while as I don’t really feel like we’re at the point yet where she can be written out in a satisfying way and I think Hattie Morahan has more to give.
And I don’t really want another Eighth Doctor reboot? Not now anyway. If they’re wrapping up the ongoing Liv/Helen stuff and ending with the Doctor alone again I think I’d much prefer if they focused on the Bliss Time War stuff for a while and also do flashbacks to older companions like Charley, Lucie, Molly and Mary. I’m just not entirely sure what another new companion can offer. Especially when there’s some older companions anyway that haven’t had much time devoted to them.

Also worth noting that Big Finish doesn't have to say goodbye to Liv forever if she leaves now - she and the Doctor travelled together between Dark Eyes and Doom Coalition and we've been getting "Further Adventures(s)" lately - whereas Helen has no such gap.

I was honestly digging Stranded 1 and 2 a fair bit, but 3 just dragged me down as it just returned to the kind of storytelling that made up most of Ravenous (fine, but entirely forgettable). So I’m only really getting 4 out of obligation to see this saga through.
I would like to see a shake up in the TARDIS team as Liv and Helen have had a really long run now. I’m not sure what else there is for them to do really. It would be nice for them to not die horribly though; poor Eight’s had enough of that sort of thing already. It would also help if they could stop teasing they’re going to write a member of the TARDIS crew out only to swerve and do something to someone who technically counts but isn’t Helen or Liv. Write them out or don’t, stop pretending you might.
I would really like to move past the 16-part epic format. We’ve had four in a row now, a bit of a brake might be nice. Do a one-set storyline, or a duology or something. Just change it up.
As for what’s this year. I’d hope one of the unannounced sets is a follow up to Time War 4 as that side of Eighth Doctor content seemed to have finally found its footing after three sets of mixed bags and had a whopper of a cliffhanger to tidy up. Though I do hope they move past Bliss at some point. No offence to Thakrar but Bliss has turned into the ultimate non-entity of a companion. I couldn’t really describe anything about her personality at a push and her hanging around is just giving Eight the precise kind of stability and normality he shouldn’t have in the Time War era.
