Close toss between Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Though High Anxiety's kind of underrated.

Easily Blazing Saddles. Although I do like the original The Producers as well.

I admit it I am in no way classy I do not rate Gene Wilder at all expect maybe in The Producers therefore for the actual topic its Spaceballs (which may actually have also been the 1st genre send up movie I ever saw)

Saddles is the one that works best as an all out comedy. Frankenstein works best as a direct parody - the more you know about Universal horror, the more you will love it. But a word for Twelve Chairs. Anxiety is at least kinda famous among comedy fans but Chairs is pretty obscure. In the last 20 years his role as himself across Season 4 of Curb Your Entusiasm, and that last episode is one of the best comic seasons ever. Start to finish. No spoilers but anyone who has seen The Producers and not seen Curb S4...do.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Mel brooks films are one of those things I don’t get, remember watching something in my teens which said producers was the best comedy of all time, I sought the video out, bought it and thought…..what???
Over the years I watched most of his other work with a similar reaction
Spaceballs probably the one I enjoyed more, but certainly nothing I would revisit
So I’m afraid I’m left out this club,

Silent Movie or Young Frankenstein. Silent Movie's not one that gets much love.

Silent Movie or Young Frankenstein. Silent Movie's not one that gets much love. A shame, that. I really don’t enjoy anything from History Of The World onwards (and that isn’t very good, either). Silent Movie is a great movie that fully employs its “schtick” and just has a lot of fun with it. YF is smarter but I get more laughs out of Silent Movie.
