That’s…uhh…surprising. I love me some Colin, but I’m not immediately sure I like this idea, I quite like(d?) the thought of the Doctor returning to a favoured old regeneration for his quiet retirement and last life. Kind of takes away from that if he does it more than once.
THAT SAID — we have no idea how this plays out yet, and it would be unfair of me to preemptively judge without hearing the full story context. So for now, I will reserve judgement and just be pleased that we’re getting *even more* Colin material!

I’m very confused, but Colin is always amazing no matter!

For what it's worth - I never thought the Curator was the first retro-regeneration (he says "revisiting a few") but I did assume he was the last Doctor! Not that any of that was said explicitly... But also, from the little info we have here, I don't think Colin-Curator was meant to happen in the prime reality! In any case, Colin has now played five completely unique versions of the Doctor (Sixie, Commentator Theta, Lord Burner, Curator 2 & The Doctor of War) - that's not even counting branching timelines like Jubilee.

In the news piece it basically says that (and this is according to Steven Moffat) the Curator is a single incarnation who goes between the different faces of his previous incarnations. So Colin Curator is the same as Tom Curator I guess?

Also, and pay no credence to this, but could this be building up to Andy joining the 8th Doctor and maybe Helen. Tom Price is a big name in Wales and is a beloved actor so I could see it happening!

It says as we head to a powerful finale, which I’m confident won’t leave a dry eye in the audience. So we gonna get death of companion? Maybe I need to start this range.

Right... I mean I’m not opposed to another Curator in principle I just admittedly never thought they’d actually do it.
Still, Colin is always good in anything he’s in. Never heard him give a duff performance.

Guess Time Lords get even weirder by the time they reach their 196th life or whatever he's on! (Though if the Doc has infinite regenerations, why not change on a whim?)

A somewhat sweet irony in Colin being so vocal in 2013 that it was unfair that Tom was the only classic Doctor invited to play a role in the 50th..only to now play the same part. Vindication for him. I know he really took issue with the "just the old favourites" line too. So nice that this rectifies Colin feeling besmirched, somewhat.

I think, rightly so considering the history he has faced in the role, that Colin forgets he is an old favourite for so many.

Well, what can I say? I would not have expected this. At all. I am also not sure this will work.
However. I adore Colin and I am happy for every minute he is still able to give to us. No matter the role or the story. Sadly, who knows how much more he will be able to do. I am also glad he gets to do some weird and wonderful character elements.
What I take home from this- I basically expect Colin to be in everything this year? No matter what? Anything seems to be possible. At least one thing for certain- he always gives 120% in anything he does, so there will be no complaint about his performance.

(And why did we never get Cheryl B. as Queen of Cats?)

Given that David Richardson is producing all three of Forty, Stranded, and Doctor of War, I can actually see that being a possibility - or, at least, that there'll be some sort of tie-in across the three.

Yes, seems a clunky idea, but one perhaps worth at least opening a potential door to for the future in this time of multiverses etc. But not when you are in the middle of distintive brand work for each Doctor.

I think at most there would be little nods between ranges, as there has always been. Crossovers seem likely, but not for a couple years.
