If this volume doesn’t end with the Kairos being torn apart by a group of angry and seriously ticked off Chronovores, I’ll be very surprised.

Pre-ordered today. Hope it comes out soon. I didn't really hype myself up for this one. I was patient and it totally snuck up on me and now the hype is happening all at once. He's hoping for tomorrow.

Okay for The Positives:
* Eric Roberts is amazing in this box set- he is the highlight of the story and honestly worth getting it for him * Chase Masterston is great in this box set a swell * There are some genuinely great moments in the box set particularly Episode 2
* While it might seem like a negative i do like they reused the music from the first box set as the score in that was terrific so hearing it repeated here was most welcoming
* Its Probably the only good Chronovore Story so far.. * It Contradicts one of the concepts Big Finish created that i wasn't too keen on and thought was a mistake
and Now for the the negatives:
* Supporting cast/ characters range from serviceable to downright irritating * The Chronovore themselves felt really superflous to the story
* The Master's Plan in Episode 3 was weak and doesn't make much sense
* Most of The Episodes feel like a Retread of Vol 1 especially Episode 1 and 3 * The Ending....was just a major let down and kinda made the whole thing feel both a retread and superfluous
Honestly this boxset was okay most of it felt like a retread of Volume #1 and while this is a technically Sequel to it its passable but if there is a Volume #3 then it really needs to be some huge changes to the range and for a start
No Vienna, No More Time Vortex Stuff put the master in a different location and give him a character journey
Rating 6 out of 10 (verging on a 7)

Finished Listening to the last story This release was one of the most things i was excited about in 2022 however having listened to it its kind hard to sum up my thoughts on if its a good release or a bad release I get that, its not quite as out there as Vol 1 it keeps within its themes, but at same time there's very little "Who Baggage", its still on the more Mature end, its a more focused dangerous take from Roberts and a more wary one for Chase. I'd still give this Release the "Fresh" seal though. Regards mark687

Regards mark687 Yeah so true, i do appreciate how brutal this range has been so far and i think in a way it deserves the "fresh" seal but yeah as you said its not quite as out there as Volume 1 which in fairness i thought was one of the best master boxsets
so perhaps judging it and comparing it to the first box set is kinda not the best way to view it from, it does feel like its recommended to be a jumping on point for new listeners though i wouldn't say its an Empire Strikes Back tier sequel that improves on the original but i am just thankful its not Last Jedi tier sequel

No messing about with prolonged reintroductions, the Master is back before the opening strains of the classy, Eastern-tinged theme music have flooded the speakers. Eric Roberts is great and Doctor Who is lucky to have him playing such a high profile character. His is a saturnine, deadpan version of the Master, laconically charming and effortlessly seductive: a truly vampiric Gallifreyan.
Amidst Roberts’ dripping velvety drawl, there's Chase Masterton’s animated Vienna threatening to again lead the story instead of the titular villain – but not for long. I found some of the other supporting performances somewhat grating and lacklustre.
Episode two sees The Master in full effect, spreading his proverbial black cloak over all and enjoying some nice grisly moments. This is what we want! But it’s story three, Passion where Eric really gets a chance to ascend to ‘drezz for the occasion’ heights; his Master is delighted with himself, and why shouldn’t he be? He’s achieved much since his latest incarceration and the only problem with that is, as a listener, you’re pretty sure it’s not going to last.
As a set, this is a step-up from the previous three tales in that it gives the main character much to do, much to say. The music and sound-design are uniformly excellent. There’s a good, winding story behind his ascension and it leaves me wanting more, and that’s becoming an increasingly rare sentiment with many of BF’s ongoing ranges.
For the first time in many years, I have no BF preorders pending; this is my last current purchase. I’m not enthused by the direction of quite a few ranges, with only the 1DAs and 3DAs gently pushing in a new direction. Purchases will depend more on reviews … unless of course we get some more Dark Shadows. Or some more Eric Roberts.

I think I’d agree with verdict of Who Review. This set was fine but nothing particularly memorable about it. It relies much more on Vienna, who is fun but I have little affinity for cos I just haven’t heard much of her and Passion wasn’t as fleshed out as Lila was on the first outing. Roberts is on fine form as ever and it is a shame his Master is stuck in this continuity cul de sac.

Like the second set of The Dimension Cannon, I thought Nemesis Express was another case of diminishing returns. It treads the same ground as its predecessor, except not as good.
The world isn't crafted anywhere near as well as that of the Earth in Master!. The titular character is barely present, a couple of scenes in the first episode and still quite sparse throughout; when he does show up it's mainly to spout exposition. Vienna is essentially the lead, more so than the previous set, but having no interest in her range, I find that she's such a nothing character; nothing fazes her and she gets no form of development or arc. Passion is the Lila of Nemesis Express, but is completely one dimensional.
Nemesis Express is a decent build up, but is reliant on a second and third act that never really materialise. The story seems to go into a different direction in Capture the Chronovore, which itself doesn't feel substantial, and then it goes in another different direction in Passion, which doesn't reference the previous two instalments and has the Master suddenly want to crash into Earth. It's completely left field and isn't seeded whatsoever.
If this was the first set, then it may fare better, particularly as Roberts performance is great and despite the limited presence it's far more substantial than his previous appearances outside his range. Whilst nothing is bad, as a second instalment, it just stands out as being a redo of Master!, except stumbles at every hurdle of what made that set such a delight. I felt the first set scratched that itch for more of this incarnation for me, but Nemesis Express has really cemented that.

Like the first set, this feels more like a Vienna set co-starring the Master.
Now, I don't blame BF for getting their two LA stars together in the studio at the same time - saves a lot of money and makes it more interesting for the actors to have someone else there - and right now the Master is the big draw for potential new listeners. Like others have said - if you didn't read the books you don't know who Vienna is. Still fun, still nice to have Eric's voice in my headphones, but in the grand scheme of things... inconsequential.

I thought this was a lot of fun... Roberts and Masterton are having a ball, and it was a nice concept. This is action-movie Who, of the don't think too hard about it variety. I thought the Chronovores where rather wasted, could have been any vortex-dwelling creature. Whether this Master and Vienna need a third meeting thought? I'd rather see him off doing something else. My take is up at CultBox.
