If you’re a fan of Lovecraft pastiches may I politely suggest you give Lurkers at Sunlight’s Edge a listen if you haven’t already? It’s far more overt with its references to his works but arguably does it better then Roof of the World.
Very good suggestion, thanks - I did hear it on our Hex arc run-through a couple of years ago and it makes a good monster story doesn't it? With a much gentler "version" of almost-Lovecraft than the real man.
I'm not a fan of Lovecraft's worlds or monsters but I have really enjoyed several stories which pastiche them - these older two in the MR and a couple of absolute crackers in 'The Scarifyers': 'The Devil of Denge Marsh' and 'The Horror of Loch Ness', two of my favourites of that always brilliant series.
Exactly. It’s a fun monster story. Reminds me a lot of something the New Adventures novels would have produced now that I think about it.
Although, it is a bit weird when you realise that technically CP Doveday and HP Lovecraft exist in the same universe as one another.
