BF nowadays have a tendency to grab an idea and run with it. I don't want to criticse John Culshaw, but he's doing quite a lot for BF, particularly considering how under-used Nicholas Courtney was back in the day. Is it better for BF to go for nostalgia, or for entirely new stuff, or is there a happy medium? Yeah, I was thinking the other day that it’s weird how much they’re using the Brig lately when he didn’t turn up as much while Nick was still with us.

I imagine there must be an element of regret that they weren't able to work with Courtney more frequently. (And as a huge fan of the Brig myself, I'm happy he's had such a revival!)

The full cast details have been added, and I'm inclined to believe that someone else has been chosen over Jon Culshaw as the recast of Ainley's Master... (Just have a look at the names of the characters )

I'm really looking forward to this one, this looks set to be the big celebration of the 5th Doctor we were all excited for. I perhaps had too high expectations for the first box set in January, I enjoyed it but was building it up as an epic and will give it a re listen to be fair.

Any chance this could be released Monday? A lot of Big Finish releases seem to be mid week, I get every other Monday off and I'd love to be able to enjoy listening to a new audio without work on my mind.
Also latest Stephen King novel Fairytale dropping on Tuesday, wouldn't it be nice to have something nice to look forward to at the start of the week.

Unfortunately, as a rule, they don't tend to release new content on Mondays. The exception to that is if it is a release tied to a special anniversary or other kind of date and that date falls on a Monday. I hate to dash your hopes but it doesn't seem likely.

Thanks I thought as much, I don't get a lot time to my self and as a massive introvert I crave news books and audio to relax to when I manage to find a quiet corner to hide in.

So looking forward to listening, I really like the Fifth Doctor, I prefer his travels with just Nyssa, Spare Parts and Caves of Andrazani are the very best of 5.

I was unable to get through vol.1, do I need to try a thrice time in order to enjoy this?

Just reached the end of the first episode, and I'm enjoying this very much so far. The story has a nice expansive feel, and it's so good to hear something so well paced for an audio story. A six-parter gives us plenty of time for some breathing space, some good witty banter (as opposed to simply imparting plot information) to get to know the characters and to be allowed a few twists and turns with the story. Another hit for Tim Foley, I'd say, even at this early stage - and also for longer stories.
