I wasn't keen - doesn't compare well to, say, "Prepper" or the more recent Squirrel Girl radio show - but it may improve, particularly if the "now I'll tell you something you already know" dialogue is out of the way. Very good cliffhanger, though! What are those?

Hmm. I’ve listened to the first episode and it looks like I’m very much in the minority when it comes to not being that impressed by this.

I wasn’t enamoured by the second episode, I’m afraid. Apart from maybe the closing moments we don’t feel any further forward than we did in the opener. We know what the premise of the series is, so I don’t think we need 20 minutes building up to a reminder of that.
And some of the quips feel a bit… forced? Rather than being natural in conversation they seem to stand out and get emphasised. It’s turning our leads from well rounded in the opener to cliched stereotypes in the second.
I’m rooting for Redacted. Hoping episode two is a blip in the lead in to the main events. It does seem clear that it’s straying away from its premise of recordable mediums, though, which is a shame and I’d argue makes it a harder job for the material to shine.

"Prepper" - Radio 4 sitcom (first series featuring Pearl Mackie) which takes the form of a podcast presented by a couple of 'preppers', offering advice on how to be ready for teh collapse of civilisation/end of the world
"Marvel's Squirrel Girl: The Unbeatable Radio Show" - podcast taking the form of a dial-in show on student radio.
Both, like "Redacted", featuring deliberately-amateurish podcasters/broadcasters, but manage to do while remaining likeable and engaging. "Prepper" has the benefit, though, of a better cast, and "Squirrel Girl" of established characters.

Caught up on episodes 1 and 2 and I’m enjoying this so far. It is weird that the real USP of the podcast element is so sidelined for a more regular audio drama style and the plot is taking a while to get going, but the ending of episode 2 does seem to be pushing things along a bit.

Thanks I will give Prepper a go.

Not quite sure what to make of it.
The Who-Universe is being stretched and erased from the periphery and this all only being perceived by a hobbyist group that has its members more focused on their own Real Life place in society. This has valid points to make and the Acting is fine enough, but so far its focus is all over the place.

Will it ever be available on CD? The initial announcement was kind of vague "available 1st as a weekly Podcast" and that was it, so the implication is it may be available in some other format at a later date. Regards mark687

I did find it quite amusing that SOS contributes to the Aliens of London dating controversy by stating that the events of Partners in Crime took place in 2008 but then Hysteria correctly dates Smith & Jones as 2008.

I’m assuming the mysterious force redacting memories of the Doctor has just muddled their brains a bit when it comes to dates. One day a writer will consistently remember the RTD era-dating…but not today.

I've loved both episodes so far. Nothing too big or epic, but I really like the three main characters, particularly Cleo, so I'm glad we're seeing lots of their daily lives and what living in the Whoniverse is like. Juno clearly knows her Who and I think the references to past episodes have been used brilliantly. Also, I'm guessing the other two survivors with Rani are Kate and Osgood (or maybe Vastra), but it would've been lovely if it had been one person from each spin-off and Gwen and Charlie were involved too. Class deserves more love and crossovers.

Episode 3 went back to the slow pace of the plot, but has thrown a few interesting ideas into the mix.

I think this really needs to kick into gear. Three episodes in and we’re no further forward than we were early on in the first episode. And the constant back and forth about them not knowing the Doctor was wearying.
I really want Redacted to shine and do well, and I like the three characters, but there’s just not a lot to it at the moment. So far it feels like it perhaps would’ve been better either released as a full series or condensed into three hour long episodes.

It's great fun with a likable cast of characters and well-executed nods to what are now "classic" episodes from 15 years ago (!). The shorter episodes don't overstay their welcome but I can also see why this might be more fun as a binge listen. I'm still having a good time with it and am really appreciating it as something refreshingly different.

Aside the lovely efforts to tie in with last year’s Into the Unknown and The Lonely Assassins (which I really need to get round to), this story was a bit of a cul-de-sac really. This series seems to be really taking it’s time to get the characters to accept there’s a conspiracy going on, let alone what it actually is.

The cliffhanger is hopefully a sign that things might get developed, but this series has completely ground to a halt. It’s cookie cutter; bit of banter and slight character work, a throwback to a Tenth Doctor story that goes nowhere and then ends having developed very little.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m feeling the characters are becoming increasingly unnatural; I can’t buy that they’re taking so long to accept events and do something about it when they’ve got a sodding podcast about a blue box! Shame because they were well rounded and likeable from the get go, but have become as stunted as the plot.
