My one concern is that BF won't be able to resist their crossoveritus and will be bringing as many other Doctors and Masters (and River and the Monk and the Eleven and...) into the stories as they can get to sign on.

Hopefully, when they get returning elements (and that could be as soon as the first Fugitive Doctor set, given how Beyond War Games has turned out), it'll be elements that make sense: of course, they'll have Karvanista, Gat and "Lee", as well as Tecteun, possibly even Swarm and Azure, but they could use Rassilon in his prime, Patience, explore early Gallifrey, enemies from the dawn of time like Racnoss, Carrionites, Weeping Angels, Eternals, Vampires, etc.
I also hope it's more of a Gallifrey type of range, maybe mixed with Killing Eve sorta vibes - a universe-trotting spy intrigue, fleeing from Division - rather than an adventure of the week deal. And, honestly, it being a "From the worlds of Doctor Who" ranther than a Doctor Who proper range gives me hope that they'll be a bit more cretive. We'll see.

It’ll be interesting to know if Big Finish are privy to the events of the centenary episode and have planned these two ranges accordingly. I know Nick Briggs will be aware to some extent - as he’ll be voicing the Daleks and Cybermen at least - but that doesn’t necessarily mean he has the full script or would entail him to have permission to fast track stories if he did. I suppose what I’m getting at is with the Fugitive Doctor specifically. What are we working towards in these sets? Do Big Finish have an ending in mind they’ve agreed with the BBC or do we get that in the centenary and the range will work towards that? It just feels like a range that shouldn’t have too much free reign to me as without any milestones it would ultimately feel aimless. I don't think there's even a script commissioned. JHE says he first met Jo back in February, so I think they might still be figuring out the details and what the tone and type of stories they want to tell are going to be. But yeah, hopefully they have a bit of insight into what's going to be happening to these characters in their next (which will be, quite probably, defining) appearance.

The Fugitive Doctor sets sound awesome, but please, try to be original with them.... I don’t mean to sound harsh but what does that statement even mean? I would think you mean you want well told stories.

I preordered the first Jo Martin set and I reckon I’ll do the same for the Master set too, but I am feeling a little weary too. Both are absolutely fantastic, scene-stealing actors and both have pages and pages of blank spaces just waiting to be filled… but I’m weary that what Big Finish has in store for them is just more of the same.
I really don’t know what I want from a Fugitive Doctor series, but there’s been an idea planted in my head by the show that it’s too big to properly imagine. It’s Chibnall’s Time War. It’s this vast, unexplored, mysterious part of not only the Doctor’s history but also the Time Lords. It’s primarily there to add to the characterization and story of other Doctors as well. The Fugitive Doctor is obviously only one small cog in the Timeless Child mystery, but she’s arguably the face of it in Series 12 and Flux. It’s a mystery that I’m not sure can ever be adequately explored and maybe it shouldn’t be. Just look at the Time War sets we have got. There have been some truly excellent stories, no question, but I think the biggest criticism those sets overall have gotten are that they just feel too much like ordinary Doctor Who or traditional war stories or any number of things we’ve seen before. Nothing is going to be as powerful as the Time War we only experienced in David Tennant’s monologues just as nothing will probably ever be as powerful as Jodie Whitaker overcoming the temptation to regain her memories of those countless lives she never know she lived and that we only get to experience small snippets of.
Again, I did preorder the first Fugitive Doctor set because I think what I have seen of Jo Martin, she’s fantastic and I’ll probably preorder the Master set because my expectations for the Master are a bit different. I just want something more creatively inspired than just “did you know River actually met the Fugitive Doctor as well?” or “did you know the Fugitive Doctor encountered the Daleks too?” I don’t think either of those things should necessarily be off limits for this Doctor, but at the very least I would rather that be after she’s had her own enemies to meet and her own time-traveling archaeologist wives to also meet but maybe not in the right order.

Oh and clearly JHE is the person you want at Who conventions. Guy is a deal closer.

You basically sum up exactly the thoughts I had. Still pre-ordered this pretty much instantly just because I fell in love with Jo Martin's Doctor and I admit I actually liked her better than Jodie....

Regardless, the Timeless Child, the Division, and this incarnation of the Doctor are all so interconnected it would just seem strange to not have them be a major part of her story even after Fugitive of the Judoon. This Doctor basically IS the mystery.

I see what you mean, but that statement could just as well be interpreted as meaning following on what was introduced in FotJ (and later expanded on in further stories). They're being deliberately vague, we'll find out in due time. But Gat and Lee are two of the most important elements of the few we know of from her era, so I'd be surprised if they weren't used in some kind of way at some point.

Well well well. Not unexpected in itself, but surprisingly early.
I do really hope the Fugitive Doctor era is it’s own era. Yes the memory wipe does give them an ability to have her meet every man and their dog from every other era…but please don’t. Give Jo Martin’s Doctor her own monsters to fight and her own friends by her side.
I’ll be interested to see how they differentiate Dhawan’s Master’s series from the other Masters. They could set it during his time stuck on Earth.

Matthew Sweet wrote a short story with the stranded Dhawan Master becoming scientific advisor to the Soviet equivalent of UNIT. That would be good to see done on audio.

I am SO down for this. I have had Jo on my avatar since her first ep. If anyone watched my Flux steelbook review I had a Jo t-shirt. SUPER happy. And Sacha was someone I touted for The Doctor so any chance to have more of him, absolutely.
I know what some mean above. The Unbound Colin could so easily have just been War Doctor. We dont want that for Jo. It needs her to have an era that could not apply to other Doctors. She uses weapons and threatens murder. Lean into that. She does what Division tell. And dont just make it war missions - think MASSIVE. The Azure stuff was, onjectively, out-there. Time itself was an enemy, a la Sapphire And Steel. Use that tone.
Sacha too. On screen he has not had much of a chance to really be his own Master - make him one.
So much potential here. No down side. Worst case scenario...the stories are not fab. Not a world ender. But the potential upside could be massive like Ecclestons stories have been.

I mean I would guess that none of these have even been *written* yet, it's possible BF haven't decided themselves That would be incredibly dumb for big finish if they had done that But fugitive Doctor stories being made while big finish does season 6b second Doctor stories seems over induglent It would be interesting to see how the sales go as with the price increase And the whole timeless children being a contemptuous topic in the Doctor who community
