While I’m really happy to see it and will definitely be preordering when we get an actual release date (I don’t want another Jekyll and Hyde situation) it’s kind of a shame that it has to be Big Finish giving Martin and Dhawan real chances to shine. They’re both actors who have such presence on screen and I really want to see them more. It’s been such a problem with this era (and to a lesser extent Moffat’s era) of just introducing concepts and characters and then doing nothing with them outside of an introduction. You could say the same of the Valeyard. Idk, just as the War Doctor, I think the Fugitive Doctor served her purpose in the story(s) she appeared in. We could just as well ask why we haven't seen more of Gallacchio's Doctor. It just wasn't her story. She played a part in Thirteen's. Another example, venturing out of Doctor territory, would be Jenny. She played her part in The Doctor's Daughter, and, while it would have been nice to see her again, I don't feel like she was shortchanged. And I don't think Sacha has "not shined" in all his appearances on the show, tbh. Again, compare him to John Simm. Would you say he wasn't given a chance to shine? In fact, I feel like I know his motivations and goals better than Simm's. Absolutely Sacha shone as the Master! For me, when John Simm was announced as the Master I was well pleased...and then we got whatever the hell nonsense that was. It was only with his (so far) final TV appearance with 12 and Missy that I got the Simm Master we deserved.

I think i am all Mastered out, after buying the master boxsets +all the Jacobi stuff.Who knows? i may change my mind, but BF lately has been full of hype, and in some case's the outcome has been underwhelming! Fugitive Doctor? will reserve my judgement until we get more details.Sneaky price rise as well! £18.99 for 3 downloads? So i will wait and see. Unfortunately with global inflation being what it is, it’s no surprise that Big Finish prices are going up. I can’t really blame them and I’d guess they’d have preferred to keep things where they are currently if they could. At least they haven’t retroactively raised prices on releases already announced.

I wonder if this means RTD doesn't have any immediate plans to use either of these on the telly.
Don't BF generally get/lose access to characters based on avoiding conflicts with the show?
That said, they're both reuniting Ace with a later incarnation of the Doctor later this year.

I'd imagine it'll be a soft reboot again just like in 2005.
But even if it isn't as long as the stories aren't set after the latest point in time we see them on TV it wouldn't really matter.

It's Kevin McNally's birthday today... could we get an official announcement of the Jericho set?

It's Kevin McNally's birthday today... could we get an official announcement of the Jericho set? Good shout but I doubt it. The latest DWM has an announcement of another set in it that’s presumably pencilled in Big Finish’s calendar for today.

I wonder why the Fugitive Doctor releases are labeled as The Worlds of Doctor Who on the website like it's an spin off rather than proper Doctor Who like all the other Doctors ranges

I wonder why the Fugitive Doctor releases are labeled as The Worlds of Doctor Who Special Releases on the website like it's an spin off rather than proper Doctor Who like all the other Doctors ranges At a guess: because nobody has created a section for it yet. I notice that the Sacha Dhawan and Eric Roberts Master releases are in that same WoDW as well, and they also do not have sections of their own.

No, I know, what I meant is why the Fugitive Doctor releases are labeled as The Worlds of Doctor Who, a line destined for spin off ranges of Who characters that are not the Doctor. Like... she is the Doctor... The releases should be in the Doctor Who line, like all of the other Doctor Adventures

I wonder why the Fugitive Doctor releases are labeled as The Worlds of Doctor Who on the website like it's an spin off rather than proper Doctor Who like all the other Doctors ranges I'm guessing it's probably because she's not a main version of the Doctor - she's not from the same line of regenerations as 1-13, and neither has any recollection of the other, so she is sort of a different character.

I am still seeing people state that Dhawan is just a Simm copy, so I guess this is a good thread to share my thoughts about him?
I genuinely don't know it this is a common interpreatation so I'd be glad to see what y'all think.
In Spyfall Part 2, he stated what for me defines this incarnation, that killing is "like knowing I'm in the right place, doing what I was made for."
Then see him try to assert how he is superior to the Doctor by making her kneel and call him Master multiple times --maybe it's due to Dhawan's delivery more than the script idk-- but even when first watching it I had the impression that this Master was not actually confident about it: when you are the Master you don't need to force others to tell you. Its in the same vein as that line from Game of Thrones: Any man who must say, "I am the King", is no true king
Maybe it's because I tried to reconcile this incarnation with the death of Missy, but I feel like he is not as confident about his agenda as he used to, that because they began a redemption arc they have lost themself.
After the events of The Timeless Children, it seems more likely that Chibnall intended it to be the revelation about the Doctor rather than Missy's redemption.
So, what I hope this boxset to do is explore what this incarnaion was doing from his regeneration up to discovering the truth about the TC, how he tried to maybe redeem himself and failing until going full nihilistic, with pain and suffering ultimately being the only thing that gives him a buzz.
