I've long wondered whether the Time Lords would seek to use the Land of Fiction against the Daleks.

I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel boxset where the Master is still trapped in the Land of Fiction. Having to navigate through the entirety of human fiction is quite an arduous task after all.
Imagine seeing The Master placed in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge or perhaps even one of the Ghosts who instead of trying to reform the famous miser has a different plan in store for him?

Whilst I'm still going to be getting it, considering that it's not the 'real' Dorian, I don't know if I'm quite looking forward to this set as I once was... (Burn Gorman's a 'turn-up for the books' though! Pun not intended).

I think Escape from Reality has the potential to be a weird and wonderful delight but for some could come close to jumping the shark. I loved Legend of the Cybermen and hope the Master unleashed on fiction will dial the crazy up to 11.

Interesting. From the way it comes across, it appears that the Time Lords (or at least The Master) are already aware of the existence of the Land of Fiction.
Yet I always got the impression from the Mind Robber that, that was the Doctor’s first trip there and he hadn’t heard about it before.

There is a comic where the Master visits the Land of Fiction (He murders Moriarty), so him knowing it isn’t totally unprecedented.

True, although it wouldn’t surprise me if this was deliberate foreshadowing to an as yet unannounced release featuring the Land of Fiction and possibly a previous incarnation of the Master.

I love the War Master range but I'm really not sure what to expect with this one, which may be a good thing. I love how twisted these sets can be, it still takes me by surprise when Jacobi flips from charming to cruel. I hope this range continues for a long time and Derek sounds like such a lovely man in the behind the scenes sections.

I kinda want to see a story where something happens to the Master that effectively neuters his "evil side," so we go through the whole thing just waiting for Jacobi to flip that switch and start spewing venom... but, nope, the the big twist is that he's really just a nice, pleasant person trying to help out for a change. We'd never see it coming.

Based in other established Fiction the strength of this is in the performances, Jacobi and Earl sound like they had a ball in the Conan Doyle framework in particular and Dorian Gray fans are sure to enjoy this. Probably as close to a run around as you could get with a War Master Release.

Hit a glitch 23 minutes into Deceased Doctor where it just would cut out and refuse to play the episode beyond that point. Dunno why; I’ve deleted and re-downloaded it in hopes of that fixing it.
But what I have heard so far, I’ve really liked. The Master of all people taking a subversive shot at the Greek Gods worked bizarrely well and The Shadow Master was a nicely done bit of character work, even if I had no idea of the real context cos I don’t know much if anything about Hans Christian Andersen’s work.

I'm really looking forward to this one, have asked my Wife to get this as my Xmas present, don't know if I can wait that long after hearing all the positive feedback. I'll have to content myself with re-listening to some of the previous sets.
I think the War Master sets have been the most consistently brilliant releases Big Finish have produced in the ten years or so I've been a regular listener. Keep up the good work Big Finish and may this range continue for many years to come.

And now the app is cutting off Deceased Doctor 5 minutes in…guess I’m downloading this set the proper way on my laptop.
Everything else in this set is playing fine on the app so dunno why it’s throwing such a fit.

Having coaxed the Deceased Doctor into life at last (for some reason it worked on the app on my phone, just refused on my iPad 🤷♂️), I finished this set.
I really enjoyed this. It’s more of a runaround than most War Master sets, but there’s a certain charm to the Master throwing a hand grenade into these works of fiction.

I liked this set. My favorite ended up being The Adventure of the Deceased Doctor, but I really enjoyed every story here. I was a little surprised by how The Master of Dorian Gray ended - I kept expecting some sort of fake-out or final twist, but no it actually had a kind of happy ending? I like that actually - I think it keeps this incarnation of the Master from becoming too overpowered. Besides, he already had all his fun with poor Watson and Holmes and THAT was certainly dark.

I think last time it was a corrupted mp4, and they replaced it fairly quickly (like within a day or two). So maybe just wait a few days and redownload.
