It'll be interesting to hear more details as they're announced, presumably later today or tomorrow. Currently the Sullivan & Cross stuff in UNIT just isn't very interesting to me. It just feels a bit too "knowing" really. As a listener we're at a disadvantage and the characters are too because they're using a real life constraint (the Fourth Doctor sets not out for a while yet) against what's happening in-universe. It just doesn't age well; once the Fourth Doctor sets are out and we re-listen to UNIT I just can't imagine us feeling anything other than lacking because they can't disclose any information due to the real life constraint.
Harry is a favourite of mine (I really don't know what to think of Naomi so far), so I really buy into the "further adventures" from him, I'm just not really getting it so far. And I can't really imagine how another set seemingly set after their stint with Four will address that. Fingers crossed the news release hints at something substantial.

I'm going to be honest and say that I don't follow UNIT stories so have no clue as to what this alludes to. While there isn't enough information about the set for me to complain about it, I really dislike what BF are doing with the 7th Doctor. A favourite incarnation of mine, Sylv is a wonderfully idiosyncratic and eccentric performer (which naturally bleeds into his Doctor), and the best BF can do with him is to tie him up with other stories/ranges. Cybermen again, and Ribos for his first set, and this tie-in with UNIT for the second.
Of course it's possible I've got 'a ferocious hold of the wrong end of the stick' and Sullivan and Cross will prove to be a winner, but where are the innovative and experimental all-new stories the Seventh Doctor often enjoyed on television?

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

Assuming this does not feature Mel and is not a direct follow-on from Silver and Ice, it will be nice if the 2 boxsets in the year are not connected, and will be a nice contrast to the "one-after-the-other" pattern we are seeing with Drs 4, 5, 6 and 8 in their 2022 boxsets (details of 3's 2nd boxset still unknown)

Pending details, I’m quite looking forward to this. I’ve been loving Christopher Naylor and Elenor Crooks as Harry and Naomi, and seeing them in what is disconnected until we hear more stories(something I’ve been enjoying though understand why others don’t). I’m hoping it’s either a three hour story or three one hours, but we shall see!

Hmm. Really have nothing against the idea but I do think it might make for a dangerous precedent if all boxsets going forward are merely the Doctor encountering recognisable characters and returning elements.
Personally it’s why I’m a bit worried about how they intend to depict the Seventh Doctor’s final days. Are those stories just going to be returning elements as well?

Harry Sullivan and the new character Naomi Cross. They're in the recent UNIT series, Nemesis, and will be in forthcoming Fourth Doctor Adventures.

That's my worry too, and it seems to be heading in that direction. He deserves better.

Hadn’t spotted this one. Whilst on the one hand it’s nice Big Finish are toying with a sort of arc across multiple ranges, on the other it’s a shame Seven’s kickstart into the new post-MR landscape has ended up being one set of returning classic foe & direct sequel and then a tie-in to a storyline for another Doctor’s companions.

And so begins what future fans will call the Saxophone Saga.
{Spoiler} Silver and Ice / Sullivan and Cross are both "S. and [word]." Or, "S and X," or SAX. Thus: the SAX Saga!

I don't follow UNIT, will this be chronologically the first story explaining why Harry and Naomi are in the present day?

The UNIT boxset begins with them already in modern day, so it's possible. They're also slated to appear in the Forth Doctor Adventures in 2024. The implication when the Forth Doctor stories were announced was that they would explain how Sullivan and Cross end up in the present day. My guess is that this Seventh Doctor Set takes place during or after the modern day UNIT stores, but I could be entirely wrong.

... Sounds confusing, but if done well little continuity snarls like that can be a lot of fun.

A brand new director, two amazing writers and Naomi and Harry is quite an exciting boxset in my eyes. Not what I nessicarily thought I would want, but I may just be eating my shoe.

Interesting that this release has had quite a quick turnaround, and might be appearances of Naomi and Harry that weren't planned as a part of their ongoing arc originally?
