Can I ask So i have a lot of respect for fan productions and many of them are great but - would you pay 20 quid for a fan production. What I've always wondered is what makes this different from a fan audio. It's got no original actors from the TV Series, don't get me wrong I'm sure the sound design and everything will be great but surely your just paying 20 quid for a fan production. I can understand 3DAs where you have Katy manning but am really instructed why people pay full price for fully recast stuff. Because these are professionally produced to a high standard by a company that's been specialising in Doctor Who on audio for over 20 years.

It’s very much reliant on trust and buy in. If Big Finish launched with something like Geronimo 20 years ago, or even now, then I think they’d sink like a lead balloon. Or they’d be very much a niche of a niche of a niche and be the sort of thing sold solely at conventions and the like. You’ve bought their full cast adventures with the returning Doctors over the years enough to trust them and take the risk with buying into a recast or impersonation. Something like Geronimo dials that further by introducing a brand new era.
The write up for this in Vortex was great and ticked all the right boxes for me. Very much looking forward to it.

The attention to detail and love for Doctor Who at Big Finish has always been the very best, I adore the show both classic and nu, for me many of Big Finish's releases over the last 20 plus years have been my preferred Doctor Who outlet. It would be wonderful to get Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith on board but I absolutely trust Big Finish to continue to produce 100 percent authentic top quantity drama. The recasts have been incredibly thoughtful, wherever possible using the children of the original cast and of course the one man band that is Jon Culshaw.

The trailer and the Vortex preview won me over. They kinda triggered me into a “why am I not buying this” moment: I want something more ambitious of the Chronicles, this might be start of such a thing; I wish Big Finish would push into new avenues rather than same old, this looks set to do just that. So I’m taking a punt.

Including Cover Story Titles and Cast Info for Vol 4 All of Time and Space Regards mark687 The numbering is getting confusing in this range. Vol 4 of the 11DCs is vol 2 of the Valarie arc!

What do you want to bet that at some point in the four-volume arc the Cybermen will try to take Valarie over? Possibly even in her last story.

I reckon the Cybermen will be the cliffhanger of the first set and then feature in the first episode of the second set, as the title is just the title of the boxset and the writer is a pseudonym so that’s a bit sus and I think there’s more to be revealed.

Well, we know JHE has written stuff under a pen name previously, and the writer's Christian name is Ellery . . . .

Actually a bit hyped for this one, I have missed good old Eleven. I feel his run was let down a little by season 7, which had some good episodes but for me was overshadowed by the 50th anniversary special. Also I enjoyed Time of the Doctor but would have preferred a two part final or feature length regeneration story, hopefully this run of box sets will feel like a missing season, a season 7b if you like.

If the release dates for this series were closer together I would have preordered, but as it is I will wait until they are all out…if I haven’t changed my mind and gotten excited about something else by then.
Dalek Universe has spoilt me - that is how linked sets should be released.
However I am sure Big Finish have done extensive market research and these spaced out releases maximise their sales.

Got through the prologue and first episode last night, and I really liked them. They capture the vibe of Matt Smith’s era very well whilst also doing new things.

It’s a confident opener, gets straight into the swing of things. I love Valerie, I love the way the hunt for Clara is integrated and I love the portrayal of Eleven.
