Dorothy McShane once travelled with the Doctor. She misses those days. Sure, she still saves the world, but less by beating up Daleks and catapulting Cybermen and more through running a massively successful charity. Only, she’s on the run for her life and her charity is in trouble. Someone wants Dorothy dead. And Torchwood are coming to the rescue. Can Mr Colchester keep her safe on the magical streets of Venice? www.bigfinish.com/news/v/chase-the-ace
Out now.

How Au fair do you need to be with this Mr Colchester in order to enjoy it? Aside from the fact that he's a gruff 'older' Torchwood 3 member, I think you can get away without really listening to anything before hand (though I'd say listening to the previous release with him & Ace might help context-wise for the pairing)

I enjoyed this. It’s more action focused than the pair’s last outing but still takes time for character work. I think the old drawback is the resolution is a bit out of nowhere.

Just listened to this. Quite fun. I like this pairing. I had no clue how they were going to resolve it.
The nearly 10 minute A Postcard from Mr. Colchester was enjoyable as well.

Nice action run-around. I got this during a high after the German Who convention, where the organizer called up Sophie Aldred live during closing ceremony and got her on board for next year. So I just wanted to listen to some action Ace adventures. There is plenty of that here. It is pretty much a James-Bond chase scene, with daring escapes, the use of different vehicles (like a snow mobile), shooting and things blowing up. Dorothy and Mr. Colchester make a great team, and their banter is amazing. Very well done.

Thought this was a big step up from The Red List. Our two leads have a great rapport this time around, Ace is well developed and a much better insight into her at this point of her life. The ending was a bit left-field, mind, which seems to be par for the course for Torchwood.
