Neat! That’s a great title for a set.

Looking forward to this release. I enjoyed the 1st set a lot more than I thought I would. I hope they can keep the standard as high.
Going forward I am hoping for more Noonan than Bradley. There is something about Bradley that just doesn't sit right yet i can't quite work out what that is.

My view is that David Bradley is very good, but he just doesn't sound like Wiliam Hartnell; Stephen Noonan does - he captures every pause and inflection perfectly. I'm really looking forward to this set. I'm also glad Lauren Cornelius is staying on as Dodo.
There seems to be a horror theme running through these stories, which is great news - the similarly spooky The Miniaturists from the first set is excellent.

So no more David Bradley ? No I believe they’ve recently recorded with Bradley based on CV information but his sets are often banked in blocks and they didn’t record anything with him during the pandemic. I know they intend to use both if nothing else based on the placeholder art still featuring Bradley. He’s obviously still interested in playing the role

Fingers crossed this is a sign the 2023 output won’t rely as much on returning enemies like 2022 did.

Yes Bradley doesn't really sound much like Hartnell but I like him. This Noonan bloke is baaaaaad.

Looking forward to this! Loved Noonan and Cornelius together, and a brand new writer is exciting!

I wasn’t keen on The Outlaws or Noonan’s portrayal, but absolutely adored The Miniaturists and thought his take suited that style of story far more. So I’m very much looking forward to Demon Song on both a story and performance level. And he can only get better, so fingers crossed for The Incherton Incident.

"The Doctor and Dodo explore two contrasting eras on Earth, in stories set in modern-day Camden Town and a post-war seaside town.
1.1 The Demon Song by Bob Ayres (2 parts) Managing to land the TARDIS in Dodo’s far flung future, the 2020s, the Doctor detects a haunting melody on the streets of Camden. People are going missing, and one of them is Dodo!
1.2 The Incherton Incident by Nicholas Briggs (4 parts) Something intercepts the TARDIS in space. Attempting to escape its grip, the Doctor inadvertently drags it through time to coastal England in 1947. As the nation recovers from World War Two, an alien force threatens total destruction."

Not a fan of the cover. I find it too bland and doesn’t really do much to sell the stories.
Not a bash on Christopher Naylor because it’s nice artwork but for me it doesn’t work for a cover.

So, presumably the first story is going to have the Doctor and Dodo land in the middle of Britain first gripped in the midst of COVID?

Artist Rendition as opposed to Publicity Shot interesting
Another New Writer good with some prestige it seems
As to when to set to avoid real world events, Jan-Feb 2020 or June-Oct 2020 were the most business as usual periods during COVID before this year so it could up being set in the "Present Day".

So, presumably the first story is going to have the Doctor and Dodo land in the middle of Britain first gripped in the midst of COVID? Considering the understandable reaction to the last story of Stranded 4, and the fact that article say 2020s rather than 2020...I'd guess at "probably not."

I like the artwork - Chris Naylor has captured the essence of William Hartnell perfectly - but ollychops is right, as it appears right now it is not really selling the two stories. However, looking at the image I can't help but think the perspective is off kilter. You have Hartnell on one side, the Tardis in the far distance on the other.....and a lot of open water. It just seems a little odd to me. Almost as if something was intentionally missing? I guess we'll find out in February..

Camden, 2020s, haunting melody, missing companion? Didn't we just have this with Albie's Angel in the 8DAs?

I really like the cover. It reminds me of the old TV Comic strips, but more sophisticated. Or a page from a Doctor Who annual or Radio Times cover. Or possibly one of those '60s ice cream cards. It doesn't necessarily capture the televison show from the time, but rather the style of how Doctor Who was promoted back then.
