" Wʜᴇɴ ᴡɪʟʟ Iɴᴛᴇʀɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇ sᴛᴀʀᴛ ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ?" Snap. The Uninvited was one of my favourites as well. It's got a nice symmetry to it. Scott ends up looking to rescue the two men who found him in the desert to begin with. There's a sense of scope, depth and emptiness to the desert as well. There's this extremely common trap that 60s television used to fall into where in order to show off the scale of the desert... nothing happens. For tens of minutes at a time. The Uninvited dodges all that, it's full of incident as the expedition starts off poor and somehow manages to get worse. Terror in New York City was one of the others. It had this compelling, rather mature idea that it wasn't just overtly malevolent figures like the Hood that International Rescue were in danger from. Sometimes, their need for secrecy puts them at odds with people who should otherwise be their allies. Thunderbird 2, in particular, has a bad track record with the American military, both by land and sea, across television and the comics. It's a great episode for showing the selflessness of the Tracy brothers. Even after the journalist tries to expose Scott, he's the one on the radio trying to keep him talking while the water rises up around his waist. Gordon with the Navy trying to get Thunderbird 4 there without Thunderbird 2.
