There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

And he hosts a fantastic podcast about poetry. Maybe one day, when I finally find my poetic soul.... Right now, I might be one of the most unpoetic people on this planet.
I get the feeling that you all really try to sell this artist to me, and somehow, it is quite a hard sell.... I’d never heard of him either before Mummy On The Orient Express, but that episode behaved like an internet algorithm and suddenly he was everywhere 🤣

I think I'll wait for the reviews to come in on this one. When the range started I instantly pre-ordered but I'm losing interest in 9s solo travels, I just feel disconnected from the charecter, it all feels a bit holiday special. Don't get me wrong there's a lot to recommend with the 9DA, the stories have mostly been good but I feel like the 9th Doctor has become stagnant, with other Doctors and their Big Finish era's I feel like I'm learning more about them or that their charecter is so well defined that I feel connected.
Maybe I've been spoiled over the years with the great development 6 and 8 have had under Big Finish, also Doctors like 4 and 10 are so iconic that their characters are a force of nature that's easy to engage with.
Chris Eccleston is a brilliant actor and I do love the 9th Doctor, a large part of his journey was the raw emotion and anger he felt after the Time War, he was capable of great joy and wonder but there was always this righteous anger and frustration with human stupidity bubbling under the surface. The charecter journey with Rose was about healing and letting someone in, being able to be vulnerable again, in 2005 this was how we got to know the 9th Doctor. I'm may be wrong but I get the impression that Christopher isn't keen to explore this kind of raw emotion in the charecter, choosing to embrace the lighter side of his Doctor. For me I'm more interested in charecter development and a journey through charecter arcs, look at something like the Lucie Miller 8DA and the way single stories connected to a season finale, the first season had Lucy in witness protection ending with a confrontation with the Cybermen, the last season had the meddling monk linking episodes towards Lucie's exit. I need something like that to help me engage, without it I'm losing interest in the 9DA.

Three intriguing premises there. I’m getting the Respond to All Calls / Back to Earth vibe. Plenty of heart and character with the Doctor turning up and helping out where he can. These are the types of stories I want from the 9DAs and they’re both faithful to this incarnation and also where Eccleston shines in lieu of wanting to not tackle what’s on screen.
I love the Vashta Nerada too. Silence in the Library is one of my absolute favourite stories and I loved the way they were realised in their two previous Big Finish appearances. They have a lot of scope.
The cover is very striking with its colours. I think in the next few months we should soon see the space around the new logo used more effectively when they’re created with that specifically in mind.
Looking forward to Shades of Fear!

Dave Hearn! Anyone who hasn't seen The Goes Wrong Show, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Christmas Carol Goes Wrong...you must remedy that! A comedic genius. And looks a bit Mat Smith!
