2023 opens with a Family Reunion and destiny knocking for 8th in the Time War, what happens when the 2nd has to contemplate allowing interference that may have a positive immediate outcome but risks long term harm, River investigates a family down the generations, read a Prince's Diary, and hear how Torchwood handled the Autons in the 1st TW MR 2 Part story.

Have both River Song and the 8th Doctor on my list. Both have me curious- the River release sounds like a fresh new idea without old "x meets Y" baggage and the 8th Doctor adventures seem to go off into weird parallel universe places. If both keep what they promise- and will indeed feel fresh- I will find out.

I’m mainly intrigued by the River Song release. Sounds like something very different for her range.
And I’m a trifle reticent regarding ‘The Dead Star’ I’m all for more adventures with the Second Doctor but from the description alone it does sound like a lot going on.

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

A busy month for me- Eighth Doctor Time War 5: I’m intrigued as to what they do with Cass as a character and whether it justifies whatever convoluted means her reappearance has come about. Plus Alex follow up is long overdue.
River Song: I wanted them to push River out of the shadow of the Doctor’s adventures and it seems they might finally be doing that. So definitely going to hear this one out.
Torchwood Monthlies: Two parter and a new era; more than willing to follow this excellent range down a new path here.
Class! I thought this series was a goner but maybe just maybe it can still have a future. After Big Finish’s previous efforts in this somewhat maligned corner of the Whoniverse, happy to support it.

A double buy for me this next month - Torchwood: Double in fact. Looks very good.
Also, anything else that gets really good reviews.

I've Time War Cass pre ordered and I'm considering Dead Star, I enjoyed Scourge of the Cybermen and would love an epic listen if the pacing is good. I've not bought the previous two audio novels as the reviews I read hinted at pacing issues.

Tim Foley has been on such a winning streak lately, so I’m excited to see what he can do with a full three hours of River Song. He’s now joined John Dorney and Simon Guerrier as a writer whose name alone can sell me on a story.
Cass sounds very promising, but as it’s now prohibitively expensive in Australian dollars, the feedback will have to be pretty phenomenal for me to get it at full price. All the same, I’m genuinely looking forward to sampling it vicariously through all your comments!

Only one for me next month : The Diary of River Song - Friend of the Family
While Cass is a possibility at a much later date (volume 1 is still gathering dust in a corner of the backlog..) and Torchwood : Double parts 1 and 2 are a certainty once I've got round to plugging the eighteen month gap between them and the sublimely twisted The Five People You Kill in Middlesborough, the premise for Friend of the Family has piqued my curiosity enough that I intend to break the habit of a lifetime and actually listen to something in the same week that I buy it...😱😱😱😱
