Hello, first post here.
I wanted to ask if anyone knew any Master nicknames that had been used behind the scenes. Stuff like War Master or Decayed Master - names that identity an individual version of the character but aren't actor names (like, I know people generally use "[actor name] Master", but I more looking for names akin to "[verb/adjective] Master"). I thought I'd ask here, since this is a topic I find interesting and I figure people here might be able to turn up something interesting on this front that I'm not yet aware of.
Thanks!

Hello and welcome! I set up a discussion thread index for this forum a while back, and one of the things I did with it was include those "nicknames" for all of the different Masters that have been featured in Big Finish audios so far. I did the same for the non-sequential Doctors (EG War Doctor) but there I had to make some up myself. So: - The Parker Master / The Young Master
- The Dreyfus Master / The Inventor
- The Beevers Master / The Crispy Master
- The Roberts Master / Bruce
- The Macqueen Master / The Bald Master
- The Jacobi Master / The War Master
- The Simm Master / Harold Saxon
- The Gomez Master / Missy
- The McKee Master / The Lumiat
- The Dhawan Master / The Spymaster
- The Gatiss Master / The Unbound Master
Those should all be in the correct sequential order of regeneration save for Mark Gatiss' Master, who is (presumably) an alternate-universe version of the Delgado Master.
...Who isn't listed for obvious reason, but I would humbly propose nicknaming Delgado "The OG Master."
Anyway, welcome to the forum, I hope ya' like it here.

Actually, I believe the Unbound Master was the next one along from the Delgado iteration - the idea being that the Master's life prior to the UNIT era was the same, but when the Master showed up on Earth in the 70s, he found the Doctor wasn't there. He then lost his TARDIS somehow, defecting between the major powers until he died in the stealth plane crash at the beginning of the story, regenerating into the Unbound Master.
Shame there's not a behind the scenes name used for Delgado's version - they've a nickname for all the others, seemingly, but not him. I believe there's a few incarnation nicknames they've given that you don't have on your list - the Decayed Master, the Movie Master, the Reborn Master and the Saxon Master are, to my knowledge, the nicknames used in the behind the scenes of Masterful for the Pratt/Beevers, Roberts, MacQueen and Simm versions of the character respectively.

Hm... interesting, I hadn't heard that. I just assumed he was an alternate-Delgado to go along with Warner's alternate-Pertwee. I really do need to give those original Unbounds a relisten soon... and maybe also muster up the courage to finally brave Exile.
Wasn't Delgado's supposed to be the "last" regeneration, though? So if Gatiss' is meant to be a new regeneration, wouldn't that imply that he had to somehow finagle his way into getting a new regeneration cycle? Mmhm, yeah. My list was mostly just going by in-continuity names and, when that wasn't an option, going with what the fandom tends to use -- IE "Decayed Master" is all serious and ominous and proper as an in-universe term, but the nickname fans tend to use (IME) is, affectionately, Crispy. But, uh... yeah, let's see how the forum formats tables and try to make something more comprehensive.... Regeneration | Actor(s) | Names & Nicknames | 1 | Milo Parker | The Young Master | 2/3 | James Dreyfus | The Inventor | 13
| Roger Delgado
| UNIT-era Master Koschei The O.G. Master
| 13.X
| Peter Pratt Anthony Ainsley Geoffrey Beevers
| The Tremas Master The Decayed Master The Crispy Master Crispy
| 13.Y
| Eric Roberts
| The Bruce Master Bruce
| 14
| Alex Macqueen
| The Bald Master
| 15
| Derek Jacobi
| The War Master Professor Yana
| 16
| John Simm
| The Saxon Master Harold Saxon
| 17
| Michelle Gomez
| Missy The Mistress
| 17.X
| Gina McKee
| The Lumiat
| 18
| Sacha Dhawan
| The Spymaster O
| Alternate 13 | Mark Gatiss | The Unbound Master |
Hm... not really seeing a way to add or remove columns/rows easily, which kinda sucks, but I think this is the correct order/regeneration sequence? Just going from memory here, so I'm sure I got something wrong. Like was the Lumiat a new regeneration (#18?) or a parallel regeneration or something else? I don't remember. There's also a TARDIS Wiki page for all the Master's many, many aliases, which may be worth a perusual.

I don't think it counts as official but in the magic the gathering and BBC crossover deck they used the following names for some incarnations
* Delgado -> The Master, Mesmerist * Ainley -> The Master, Formed Anew * Simm -> The Master, Multiplied (as a reference to the Master race thing) * Gomez -> Missy * Dhawan -> The Master, Gallifrey's End
btw, the Dalton rassilon has the label 'Rassilon, the War President'
