Have you heard the others? They are solid I only heard a couple. Only liked the one with Colin. Figured it is not my style. But going to try this.

But today is Monday? And it is not the 31st? Did the intern mess up?
Anyways, good news, will be nice for me to snuggle up on my couch tonight and have only some fake candles on and enjoy some goosebumps.

Ok.. So I am 50 minutes into it.. Enjoying it so far. There is a brief mention of the worldwide event which happened.. Labelling this as an "Audio Movie".. Maybe it is a jedi mind trick, the background noises/effects etc (everything that isn't voices) really pop out more..

Not that BF's sound design isn't spectacular anywhay, but there's a definite extra-creepy subtlety that really anhances the experience, especially if you listen in headphones.

I enjoyed this slow-burning haunted house thriller a lot. Writer Tim Foley and Director Bernaby Kay make the most of the movie-length formula to revisit Anne and Adam and fill in a few of the blanks in their lives since events of Phil Mulryne's Drawn to the Dark - not all of them happy, and once again hints that Anne Reynolds' isn't quite as holier-than-thou as she appears. I like that hidden darkness; she has ways of getting things done. Adam has his secrets too.
The acting's terrific throughout. Reice Weathers is nicely irritating as Haz (he is supposed to be irritating, I take it?); Philip Hurd-Wood and (especially) Selina Cadell are suitably sly as Mr Sears and Deborah Stark. It is interesting that the recent enforced lockdowns have had such an effect on the regulars, and Adam's anger is well conveyed; the two regulars are terrific, but John Dorney is probably better than ever here. Nick Briggs supplies some superbly eerie incidental music that, alongside the subtle sound effects, works brilliantly through headphones. When a character says something along the lines of "Shh - listen ... can you hear that?" we, the audience, are listening intently also.
I'm not sure that the journey isn't more satisfying than the destination. It'll require a second listen (which is no hardship, because this has been a very enjoyable ride), but the revelation of departmental interference and their devastating effects came across as a little anti-climactic. I'd have welcomed more spiritual scares - this was tale of an overtly unsettling atmosphere rather than obvious jumps-scares; Anne's dithering about retiring is welcome though - for a while it seemed her decision had a finality about this series. If she continues, then there may be more Omega Factor stories, and I'd really welcome them.

A brilliant release. It's one of the best from Big Finish this year. I liked how they linked back to previous series to answer a few questions whilst telling a great scary story. Nice riff on the Uncanny podcast at the start!
I listened mostly on headphones and I think that really added to the atmosphere.
I truly hope they do more, its been a series I've thought deserves more, so I hope enough people but it to justify more.
Just more Callan please and I'll be happy!

I listen to every BF story with earbuds - much clearer and you hear more of the background ..
Yes.. PLEASE EVERYONE buy a copy of this so we get more - there is sooo much untapped direction they can go in !

I thought this was a brilliant release. This has been one of my favorite BF non-Who ranges and I've missed it terribly. I was expecting just a good release, I wasn't expecting something THIS good. I think this is one of John Dorney's best performances as Adam. You can tell that the years apart from Ann have mellowed him, made him more thoughtful, although he is still that emotional man and feels so much. I did not listen to it with ear buds, but I will on my re-listen, which is sure to happen some time soon. Even without, the sound design and music were just phenomenal. Kudos to Nick Briggs and (I believe) Benji Clifford for their work on this release.
Here's praying for more Omega Factor!
