Nice to have a new set, and I really like how standalone the stories sound! Also David Quantick has returned, the first project produced by Noga Flaishon who wrote for the last War Doctor set, and a brand new writer with Freddie Valdosta. Will definitely pre-order this one.

Regards mark687 I don’t blame them limiting the run of CDs, but I wish they would release a bit more information about the stories. I know they want to drip feed the details to keep the release in the customer’s consciousness. Missy is usually an instant pre-order, but I confess the new pricing is making me pause.

To be honest, I tend to forget Missy is even a range half the time.
I’ve enjoyed previous stories from this, however, so I’m willing to give it a go. Depending of course what further story details are revealed down the line.

Nice to see some new talent on the writing side. I’ll wait on story details, as after Missy and the Monk I’m not really of a mind to blindly invest unfortunately.

Will be waiting on more details too. I adore the character, but find Michelle Gomez is quite patchy on audio and I think every subsequent appearance has been downhill since the first series. No Monk and the production side of things do bode well, so fingers crossed. I would like to see something tied more into a TV appearance at some point, whether that be post-regeneration, post-The Witch's Familiar, a lead up to Extremis or stories linking into the wider Nethersphere work.

Let's try that again...
As per usual these days I'm very inclined to wait for the reviews / opinions expressed on this forum and elsewhere before handing over any card details.
But...if in due course Bad Influence looks like it might be emulating the freshness and originality of Series One, and if Big Finish can resist the temptation to team Missy up with the Monk yet again (absolutely no offence intended towards Rufus whatsoever, but that particular double act has been played one too many times now...)...then I could be tempted into a spontaneous purchase before release... 😱

Please indulge me. I am trying to increase my excitement to a level that will make me press that big red pre-order button!
We know the stories titles are:
4.1 The Time Assassin 4.2 Bad Apple Brigade 4.3 The Baron Robbers
And we know from the news article that…medieval thieves, wayward students, renowned assassins…will feature.
It seems fairly obvious that those three bands of bad people will relate to the stories in reverse order.
The Time Assassin Renowned assassins would fit. I wonder could Doom make an appearance? Perhaps she will have life with Big Finish outside of her “final 24 hours”. I know she has already met Missy in comic form, so they have previous, but Doom’s Day isn’t a release I am expecting to get, so the notion of her being in this leaves me feeling ambivalent.
Bad Apple Brigade Speaking of previous. Missy series 2 episode Brimstone and Terror has a write-up that says “Missy wants an army, a brigade of willing youngsters, trained to serve.” Could this story be revisiting that school and/or the Davis children and perhaps even Strax? I always love Missy in The Victorian era, so this notion is raising my E-level. But wouldn’t Roy Gill be back if it was linked to those characters and previous stories?
The Baron Robbers Medieval thieves seem to fit with such a title and I have to wonder if the titular Baron might turn out to be a certain meddling Time Lord… After all the Monk does have a habit of playing in Earth’s history.
Unlike many others I don’t have an issue with Missy encountering the Monk, yet again, but I confess my imaginings have a lot of returning elements, probably too many.
So, after all that waffle I am more tempted than before, but with so little information available that big button hasn’t yet turned green.

Not sure how to feel, Missy is my favourite Master ever, Vol 1 was my favourite BF set of all time, absolute 10/10, Vol 2 - "only" 8-9/10, and Missy and the Monk - okay but nothing more.

The story details sound much better than I’d imagined and the cover is gorgeous. Consider my interest piqued; let’s hope Michelle brings her A-game.

The stories don’t sound revelatory if I’m honest, but with new talent behind the scenes I’m willing to take a punt and see how they turn out. Certainly refreshing to move away from Missy meeting continuity. Also guess we’re unceremoniously ditching the Master TARDIS again given the emphasis on her dodgy vortex manipulator; Series 1’s little arc really was kinda pointless in retrospect.

Missy is my favourite Master, but I feel like BF have never really done her justice. Yes, she's among the more playful/affable incarnations of the character, but she's also the most sadistic and dangerous (at least until the redemption arc kicks in). I feel like the audios never really let Gomez portray her as a serious threat ( compared to likes of Roberts or Jacobi).
Even her BF theme is a playful, upbeat Mary Poppins-esque theme. Pretty weak compared to the nightmarish theme for the War Master. Feels almost like a parody of the character.

I know the previous set isn’t held in high regard, but having the Monk in every story made it feel like a continuous story that made the box set feel like the correct format for those stories.
The write up to this set makes it sound like three stories just packaged together.
Perhaps there will be more to it, with a (currently hidden) arc, but individually and together they are not tempting me.
