This looks absolutely wonderful to me. Of the last couple of 3DAs, I found The Return of Jo Jones suffered from the stories being too short; Kaleidoscope did the usual Alan Barnes thing of starting out with an interesting premise and then, almost as if the writer lost interest in that, became something less and less involving. This, through, a huge great seven-parter lifted from Series 7 (I like that number) and written by Eddie Robson, promises truly great things. An instant preorder for me.

Sounds fantastic, but, and this isn’t a complaint, wasn’t this supposed to be a Sarah Jane set?

I guess either the Sadie Miller credit on the website was a mistake they didn’t pick up on or as we know that there’s a Sarah Jane set coming next year maybe it got swapped around in the schedule last minute.
I did think it was a bit odd that Sadie was credited with no other information revealed. Especially as they haven’t even revealed whether Harry and Naomi will be in the next two 7DA sets.

Blimey, the Third Doctor seems to have the monopoly on big epic stories doesn’t he?
Sounds like a welcome return for Eddie Robson and the often untapped and underrated goldmine that is Series 7.

It’s been too long since we’ve had a Liz set so this is a very welcome surprise.

Daisy Ashford is brilliant as Liz. But 7 parts! We'll see.

I'm so glad we're getting another Three/Liz/Brig set. The cast were amazing in The Annihilators and I have faith that Robson will use the 7-part format to his advantage.
If it was up to me, the Third Doctor range would go the way that the Fourth Doctor one is next year, with 3x3-disc boxsets - one with Liz and the Brig, one with Sarah Jane, and one with the new continuing adventures of Jo Jones. (EDIT: Especially as it was recently confirmed we won't be getting any Liz in 2024!)

To be honest they pretty much had me at "The Third Doctor and Dr Elizabeth Shaw are back in another seven-part full-cast audio drama inspired by the much-loved Season 7 era of Doctor Who on television..."
But a seven-part full-cast audio drama written by Eddie Robson and set in my neck of the woods (Norfolk and Cambridgeshire - curious to see if beyond Huncleath Eddie went for realism or artistic creativity to describe the area), with suggestions of alien tech, time travel, a mysterious disappearance and a possible deep dive into Liz's past? (fingers tightly crossed that Rowena Cooper's rather magnificent Dame Emily gets to make an appearance somehow)....
...let's just say that my more cautious nature when it comes to spending with Big Finish these days is currently working out how soon I can place a pre-order for this alongside The Box of Terrors.

I do wonder if this will be BF telling their version of Liz’s departure. I know we sort of got one with The Blue Tooth but it’d be cool to have a sort of big season finale style farewell for Liz.

Annihilators may have been a 7 parter but the crossover with the Second Doctor and Jamie meant it got a real boost half way through. Almost felt like a "real" box set more than anything else.

The longer Big Finish stories are my favourites. There are too many 1 hour stories for my liking. Some are okay but many have too rushed resolutions.
The best 3 - 4 x 1 hour sets are the ones that have an arc or theme running through them. For example The recent War Master sets, there's an end game that makes the shorter episodes less superficial.
To Big Finish’s credits many of the one parters stretch to over the hour mark, it does frustrate me when I buy a set and the episodes barely clock in at 45 mins.
