And stuff like this is why my Time War order ain’t chronological!
Well, I was following this range anyway but curious to see what they do with Eight here.

Nice that they’ve got Ajjaz writing a script. I like Case, but thought she wasn’t best served in the previous set due to the jumps from story to story, so interested to hear her insight into the character. And curious what the involvement of Eight will be like; the image used is the Edge version from Power, but could be a red herring.

I was never a massive fan of the Time War, other than an enigmatic 'happening' prior to the show coming back in 2005 - but this range has proven to be a favourite of mine. The cover is great, the premise intriguing, and I hope this isn't the last set we get.

Apparently this is being billed as the “final” set for the War Doctor Begins series. Wonder whether they’re not doing any more War stories for now or they’re moving further into the Time War so the series is going to get a new title?

The fourth set was the final one until they announced more. Unless they do a news article that puts an emphasis on it, as they did with The Diary of River Song, I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. I just think gone are the days of four set announcements and the like.

Be interesting to see what sort of dynamic the Eighth and the War Doctor have.
Considering unlike most incarnations they’re so close, I’m hoping for some wonderful character moments.

Big Finish have now put up a news piece which is pretty unequivocal about this being the end of the range: www.bigfinish.com/news/v/the-war-doctor-begins-endsI wonder if Carley has hit a similar decision to Dudman. Or maybe they’ll just rebrand it without the “begins” tagline.

A rebrand of the range could be coming, maybe Carley doesn't want to do more, maybe the range wasn't selling well, maybe there are rights issues with using the War Doctor again, maybe BF just think they've done as much as they can with the Time War and the War Doctor... seems like with this range there's too many unknowns to speculate.

The War Doctor stuff has never really lived up to the potential of the character. Probably due to the BBC limiting what can be done with him?

If this is the end of the range I am surprised they never got the War Doctor and the War Master in the same set.

If I had to guess, if this was the final War Doctor set, they would be a lot more upfront, then just having the news article saying The War Doctor Begins Ends. I suspect there might be a rebrand, and with River seemingly also having a rebrand, I wonder if this isn't just going to be the case for these two ranges.

I can’t say it’s the same, but the number of Big Finish ranges winding down reminds me of when the Early Adventures, Bradley Adventures and Companion Chronicles winding down before the new Noonan and Troughton ranges launched. I wonder if BF is looking to simplify how they market the spin-offs, so they only announce them one year in advance and offer a big bundle to get all of them in one package.

With about ten seperate releases every month, perhaps Big Finish are looking to slim down their output?
