Have to say the news that volume 2 is more affordable has made me rethink about buying volume 1 from Amazon and getting it from big finish instead. Seeing as volume 2 isn't as expensive I know the luxury £40 volume 1 price is a 1 off and not a continuing thing. There is also the ocd thing of not having series 1 without season 2 on my big finish account. I suppose I can get the cd of prisoner plus downloads of Churchill and avengers 5 (when it comes out) and get the 10 percent discount which for over £50 is about £8.20 off. £31.80 isn't too bad i suppose and round about how much I would have went on it. It might be 2 quid more expensive than Amazon but there is no download so I think it's worth the extra This is exactly my thought process since they announced Vol.2 yesterday. They've tacitly admitted their mistake by remedying the pricing going forward. I'm kinda inclined to use the 10% discount by ordering something else like one of the holes in my Dark Shadows collection.

I wonder if they will get Mark Elstob to sign preorders? It would make the difference between me buying the CD version instead of the download.
I thought they missed a trick by not having signed preorders of the deluxe vol 1 to be honest. Then again I was hoping for a signed Sixth Doctor Last Adventure too (and that didn't happen lol).
Cheers

Cheers Tony I guess two Colin signed ore-order items for the same month, after This Is Colin Baker, would have been a tad much. They don't do the signed thing very often, all things considered. I'd have loved the Benjamin and Baxter CDs to be signed. Mark signing it would be cool but if the first set was signed by Michael Cochrane I'd never have had a quibble

As Grazey and I discussed above, have now ordered with BF direct. I would not be doing so if Vol. 2 was continuig the pricing structure but hey, it's not so I'm moving on. Added the new Torchwood in to get the 10% discount so I essentially got the TW for a fiver. Yes, Amazon is a tenner cheaper but at least BF pay their tax, they get all my money not just a slice and they've done what we all wanted and re-assessed the cost of this range going forward. A nice resolution.

A nice resolution. Agreed. BF do seem to have listened to us (or at least reassessed their pricing for volume 2) and because of this I have decided to keep my deluxe boxset and not sell it. I'll give it a couple of weeks for any (possible) announcements about vol 2 being signed (I can hope) before ordering the download. Cheers Tony

I've opted for download a couple of times accidentally and Joe fixed it with no issues (and didn't charge the difference - shhhh!)

I bought it on download and then they announced that Louise and Dorney would be signing preorders. I had to pay the difference, but ended up getting the Omega Factor audiobook through the post a week later lol. With Brenda's blessing this was passed onto a friend who really enjoyed it . Cheers Tony

Interesting listening to the BF.com exclusive documentary for direct customers, Nick talks about what he'd like to do next with the range.
He mentions really wanting to adapt "A, B and C" and "Hammer Into Anvil". Two of the best episodes for my money.

Oh, and Nick wants Michael Cochrane back as No. 2 as he loved his performance the most. That's quite special as it's exactly the reason the original series had Leo McKern twice as No 2 - McGoohan didn't want to use the same actor more than once but absolutely loved McKern's performance.

Now would be an ideal time for them to announce signed pre-order copies of Volume 2. Why? Because I've just pre-ordered the download! Cheers Tony

I think there'll be a few folks who DID splash for Vol 1 a bit annoyed that Vol. 2 is going to be in a totally different design format! Count me as one of those folks - they won't look good side by side on the shelf!

My copy of the Prisoner release is number 93.
Though it says it's not a number, it's a free deluxe edition. I told it that at £40 it was far, far from being free, hence the pricing controversy.
Also, anyone else having trouble with their copy always trying to get away? Mine never gets far - it can't, there is no escape from The Shelvage - but repeated failure (often involving being rounded up by my guard dog - an actual dog, not just a white balloon) are not deterring it as yet.
93 is not a number I'm happy with, to be honest. Would have preferred an even number.
My Light at the End is 3730 - a round number, perfect.
My vinyl copy of Light at the End is 418 - nicely even.
My Sixie's Last Adventure is 570 - another round number, awesome.
My Worlds of Doctor Who is 773 - ugh!
My Romance of Crime/English Way of Death is 397 - vomit!
My Damaged Goods/Well-Mannered War is 635 - ending in a 5, the only acceptable way an odd number should end.
If the Tenth Doctor Limited Edition is numbered hoping I get a good, strong, even number for that. Obviously number 10 will be the most desirable number for that release (hint, hint, to any BF staff that may see this).
The same numberphobia afflicts me when setting the volume on my TV or car radio, acceptable settings are only 10, 11 (an allowed exception because of the Tap), 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25 etc.
Dont judge me. I've had a difficult life. Almost every second year I have to live with being an age that is a horrible number.
Back to the Prisoner though, I wonder if numbers 1, 2 and 6 of the Prisoner package were sent out to paying customers or if BF staff called dibs on those?
