Release the episodes in full or don't color them at all, as wonderful as seeing The Daleks incolor was I found the editing especially towards the last half of the story to be very jarring. I would love to see the full episodes colourised as an option.

While the merits of the edits (...rhyme..) can be argued. "Just do the lot"? It took a year to colourise 75mins. The full story is 175. Square that circle! To quote Terrence Dicks "when you're asked why you did or didn't do something obvious to fans, the answer is almost always time or money, and usually both".
And even if they could, it's against the "we're making these for a young or new audience who wouldn't watch the classics" notion of the entire thing.
Personally, some more care on the score and lessons learned from the pace of the edits for the action parts is all I ask.

Personally, some more care on the score and lessons learned from the pace of the edits for the action parts is all I ask. Yeah the funky bit was out of place and jarring ... and maybe another ten minutes might have helped towards the end... but it wasn't a bad effort at losing 100 minutes from a classic Doctor Who story and still telling the story.
I liked it anyway. Does the 75 minute edit top the original version? No. But if colourised edits help the younger generation watch an episode of Doctor Who from 1963 then I'm all for it. The more they do, the better they'll become.
And for the purists, the original full-length stories are still there to be watched... so it's win/win.

It was screened on BBC Four, their target audience is adults aged 35 and over.

It was screened on BBC Four, their target audience is adults aged 35 and over. And then put on iPlayer for us youths. More seriously I do know someone who was intrigued by classic Who being on iPlayer but the pacing was putting them off (and fair enough cos if you’re not used to classic Who it can feel glacial at times). So a cutdown of The Daleks was intriguing. I’ll have to check in if they actually watched it.

And not just put on the I-Player - simulcast live, and now shows as the first result in The Whoniverse in the classic Who tab.
