This range has fallen into quite the cul-de-sac, hasn't it? Reading the synopsis and they're not even hiding it's much more a Vienna range than it is The Master. Couple that with the first episode being spent resurrecting the Master, then it's all too repetitive and formulaic. The Axons or the Doctor aren't even the issue here; the former are great and very rarely used and the latter has yet to have a decent and substantial encounter with the Roberts incarnation on audio.

I still have hopes for the range, but those are dampened with - as you say - the cul-de-sac it has been steered into. Having parked it there, no-one behind thescenes seems in any hurry to guide it in a new direction, or even give this range an identity of its own. What happened to writing to the strengths of the actor and character? Yep, he's a Prince of Darkness-type Master, so why not cook up something truly sinister to do with him, give Eric something to really get stuck into?
Or we could just bring back Vienna and have him periphal in his own stories. Perhaps it's in tribute to that other Prince of Darkness, Christopher Lee, who often complained about being sidelined in the Hammer Dracula films.

Eric Roberts is great on audio, but yeah its getting a bit predictable now.

It is a bit of a shame that this Master seems stuck to Vienna. David Richardson talks about wanting these sets to be standalone, but at this point they’ve surely got commit to a status quo as this is the third time in a row a storyline has had to go to trouble of resurrecting the Master.
In terms of Axos reappearing, I don’t mind. I haven’t heard Axos’ other audio returns (just it’s excellent comic one) so novelty for me, and it is rare for the Master to get a direct rematch with an old TV ally/adversary who isn’t the Doctor or Daleks.
The Eighth Doctor turning up was always going to happen with these sets eventually, but again I don’t mind as Eight only got one brief confrontation with Roberts in Day of the Master so it’s relatively uncharted territory.

Honestly the 2024 Audio im looking forward to more Roberts is always welcomed McGann playing an axon seems fun
i just hope it wont follow the formula of Nemesis Express by basically copying the first boxset beat by beat but altering slightly

He's the most enigmatic of all the incarnations of the character, so should we explore that? Nah, let's just make him the straight man in a double act with Vienna.

He was hardly in Nemesis Express and what we got was him isolated from the action just so we could enjoy hearing him chew scenery (which he did marvellously, I admit)

Agreed i found that its like they are doing the old bait and switch by making Vienna the main character instead of The titular character of the range it feels like deceptive marketing and that BF couldnt simply just revive the Vienna range. imagine if you had Derek Jacobis War Master being sidelined in his own stories by idk Lady Christina or having The Meddling Monk the main focus rather than Missy.....oh wait anyway point being just have Vienna in this boxset and then for Volume 4 and future just have Roberts Master by himself or with another character

What a great voice Eric has. Let's hope we get to hear more of it this time around.

This range is a little repetitive but I love Eric Roberts. Perfect on audio.

Great trailer Kinda wish they had the master theme playing throughout the trailer like volume 1 and 2
I wonder if after this Boxset he will get his own page on the range website rather than just simply listed as worlds of Doctor who?

Rompy and somewhat Darkly Comic touch of the "Odd Couple" in fact
If this is the End the Series as a whole was an equal parts fascinating and humorous view of one of the Whoinverses central antagonists.
