Josh Wilson from Mad Norwegian Press and host of The Oncoming Storm podcast say he's heard from someone inolved what it is and he says he can't believe they're even attempting it. So Lungbarrow would fit that, though it would set a few continuity hounds aflame if they kept some of it intact I still fancy Cold Fusion. Would give them a crossover with another Doc and we know Matt Waterhouse was working on a Five story...who knows if its just a Five story or a Seven one as well?

that sounds really promising. Although it could be The Also People or Sky Pirates as both were quite surreal and off the wall

I'm very happy to hear there's another novel adaption coming, whatever it is, to be honest. The four I've heard so far have been very enjoyable. Will this be the last one though? I'd heard BF weren't doing any more.

Although it could be The Also People or Sky Pirates as both were quite surreal and off the wall I adore Sky Pirates - I'd actually prefer it to Lungbarrow et al, but I think if Deember's TBA was just a run of the mill mid-period VNA, they wouldn't have shrouded it in secrecy for so long at the risk of causing hype they couldn't match.

Lungbarrow is my preferred release too - loved the novel & the mythology of Gallifrey.

I don't see why BF feel the need to be so enigmatic about these things. If it is Lungbarrow - and it sounds like it might be - then I'm pretty happy. It'll throw a spanner in the works of continuity, but quite rightly, BF don't seem to feel limited by that.

I take the New Adventures as "canon" so looms, uncles, cousins, The Other etc are all part of continuity to me

Yes, I don't think most listeners expect the audios to retain book canon so I don't know why they do when it comes to BF adapting the books. In the early years when Benny was in the Main Range it was called a "side-step" (ie. don't worry about continuity, just enjoy it) and thats the spirit this rage should be taken in.

The Unbound series followed a similar pattern too, and was mostly very enjoyable. I'm especially hopeful it is Lungbarrow because I'm probably one of the very few fans who never actually read it.

Could it be Time's Crucible? Think I'd be more excited about that one than Lungbarrow.

Maybe a condensed Timewyrm or Cat's cradle arc?

Maybe a condensed Timewyrm or Cat's cradle arc? That would be such a let down. They're really not great (mostly) and the "arcs"? Well, Andrew Cartmel submitted Warhead and then found out it was part of an "arc" so it shows how much effort was put into making them consistent in those early days. He's been outspoken about it - I doubt Andrew would even sign off on letting BF do his one.

Though I'd still purchase a *revised* Lungbarrow, I'd prefer Cold Fusion.

I'll get it whatever it ends up being. I've only ever read a couple of the novels, and Lungbarrow happens to be one of them, so that would be cool if they did try it. But I've always thought that story was just a bit too far-out for BF to tackle.

Hey, Might best to put a spoiler warning there! Some of us don't look for leaks/rumours, etc are are enjoying the suspense

Are we really at the point where a rumor of a novel adaptation is some kind of spoiler? I'm not asking to be confrontational but it really seems to push the meaning of the word to the breaking point.
