Yakuza Zero. Never played one of these before, but they sounded fun. Picked it up and I'm loving it. It's so crazy and melodramatic. There's no problem that can't be solved by punching it, or hitting it with nearby furniture if need be. EDIT: And there's Karaoke! Somewhat relevant, a piece from a few years ago about an earlier game in the series. Yakuza 3 reviewed by actual YakuzaI just completed Ni No Kuni 2, and I haven't enjoyed a game that much in a long time. I've been playing with my daughter and it took us three months of free time to conclude. We're in the post-game now. As an added bonus, I saw Sophie Aldred in the credits! I'm not sure which characters she voiced (I suspect it was a random townperson/shopkeeper, as there are a huge number of random characters with just a few lines), but learning that made me enjoy a great game even more.

Zombi on PS4, awful graphics, generic controls, bland gameplay but somehow i want to keep playing it.

That was an interesting read. I'm surprised by how accurate and relatable they actually found it.

Been terrifying myself silly on-and-off in breaks by playing the remaster of System Shock 2. Oh, yeah, this is what fear tastes like. Burnt copper and a low-resolution polygon-count. SHODAN was, is and likely will be as creepy as ever.

Getting through Resident Evil 7 pretty steadily. It’s giving me serious Arkham Asylum vibes, which I love. Even better is that it’s not even that creepy.

Been managing the ins-and-outs of a galactic empire in Stellaris. Starts off with a pretty steep learning curve ("What's this button d--Oh. I've just declared war on a neighbouring solar system..."), but it's been surprisingly addictive. Just made first contact with a neighbouring species that share our ideology. Huzzah! And been contacted by marauding warlords who'll accept semi-regular tribute in return for not trying to raid our starbases. Huzzeh... At least we've got our first two off-world colonies underway.

Just finished the new Spider-man game. The story was good; Had it's weak points and strong points. The pacing and focus is spotty, but the character work and world-building is all strong.
The gameplay is completely awesome! It's like they've taken all elements of all of previous Spider-man games (even not so great ones) and refined/distilled them them into a superior, near-perfect Spider-man experience.
The wall-crawling in enclosed spaces could use some work, but fast traversal feels and handles amazingly. The combat flows well, even when things get chaotic. There are a ton of unlock-able costumes, powers and gadgets. Hair-pullingly frustrating race challenges... my favourite!
There's so much spectacular attention to detail, and you can feel the genuine love for the character and series in practically every aspect of the game. Insomniac did good, and I can't wait for more.

It's good to see the guys behind Spyro the Dragon and Ratchet and Clank are still kicking (webbing?). I've very fond memories of both from childhood.

The first of the rebooted Tomb Raider. Loving it, quite simply! Uncharted set pieces, story and action mixed in with the upgrades and customization of the Batman Arkham games, which was always something missing in Uncharted for me.

Currently playing Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance on the 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Edition. I’ve played it on the 3DS, but it’s the first time I’m paying attention to the abilities that can be unlocked.
