Mass Effect now were talking, barring the third games endings none of which i liked i loved playing these games, great storytelling, wonderful characters & your decisions carry over from each game was brilliant. I also enjoyed the fourth game, post patches. Dragon Age Inquisition was ok but didn't float my boat, i highly recommend Witcher 3, possibly one of the best games I've played, the choices you make change the game, great characters, good story, excellent side quests one of the best games i ever played. Ahh, Mass Effect... They were able to capture that glorious feeling in space operas where you bonded to the ship just as strongly as the characters living on it. That same sense of home as the Enterprise, Andromeda, Liberator, Moya, the Orville, where it becomes physically painful to see anything happen to it. The DLC for the second game where you're trudging through the snow collecting dog tags has to be one of my strongest memories. No added characters. Only a handful of dialogue, at best. Just one long homage to how significant the Normandy ended up being as a player. I used to love cutting the council off everytime the contacted the Normandy, thie original was released in 2007 & still pis.es on most next gen games released today, one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

well finished last of us part 2.........(thanks for the guidance)
well what a pointless (and poorly written) third act that game had (and we all thought that mass effect 3 had a shit ending)....... whats with all the violent lord of the flies stuff, rattlers are they the firefly's or just coincidence they got them, please tell the story properly........ is ellie brain damaged with all the stupid decisions she makes.....makes perfect sense to give everything up, to travel half a continent on a tiny tip to kill someone who has let you live twice and only took revenge cause her dad was killed ...... why keep making you do stuff only to kill the character at the end in a boring cut scene. i half expected that final shot was going to be ellie blow her brains out things were just so badly written at the end.
great game when there was a game, but where is the problem solving, the sneeking about trying to avoid the infected that made the first one so great, but too much pointless moving about for no purpose, and too many dull cut sequences that never enhanced the story.
I was with the game for 2/3 of the way even though i questioned the actions and motives of the story, last third (return from hospital and after) spoilt all the hard work
shame, sort of wish had left Abby stuck in that hospital with that nasty monster, little after that added to the story or gave much in terms of gameplay

Reinstalled Star Trek Online a little while ago and have been playing it in jumps and starts.
Also reinstalled and have been playing Spider-Man (PS4) this morning. Still lots of fun, though I'm having a bit of trouble getting my fingers and thumbs back into the rhythm of the controls.

It really is spectacular (ha haaa, see what I did there? ), I platinumed the core game too. Never did the NG+ trophies or DLC though, even though I do own them. Maybe this time. Really looking forward to the Miles Morales-centric quasi-sequel too.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - Part 2 of the Sands of Time trilogy, in which we go from charming fairytale to edgy BS that's so overwrought it's at the point of parody. The core platforming gameplay is still just as good, but it's smothered by anger and blood and wailing butt-rock. There's a reason this game became a laughing stock.

Did you see that Ubisoft is doing a remake/remaster of Sands of Time? I'm pretty interested in that, but also really really hoping they fix that stupidass impossible elevator fight near the end. I never could get past that, so I never finished the game!

I never could get past that, so I never finished the game! Yes, I did hear about that. I don't really know anything beyond that it exists. Haven't kept up with gaming news very much for the last several years. I hope it's good though, the HD remaster trilogy on PS3 was a bit of a mess IIRC. That elevator fight is hard as hell, I can see that being a sticking point. I've finished Sands of Time many, many times over the years and I always die there at least once. I was young enough that I could enjoy it sincerely. I'm now old enough that I can enjoy it ironically (in order to mask my enjoying it sincerely). Vault slice is the key, that one move will see you through most fights except for those few enemy types that block it. Another trick is to do the insta-freeze dagger stab thing on the big guys and one-shot them so they don't bother you. But yeah, Warrior Within, even back then, I don't think I really liked the charming and handsome Prince becoming such a jerk. But it's a style problem and not a gameplay problem. I haven't revisited Warrior or Two Thrones very often, so I'm curious to see if I like them better now.

Without spoilers the DLC reveals a twist to a character who's actions will be a huge emotional dilemma for Spider-Man in the next game.

I had to restart Warrior Within from scratch because I ran into the "early Sand Wraith" bug, which makes the game impossible to complete. The Dahaka is supposed to appear and bust a wall for you to go through, but with this glitch active, he does not and you are forever trapped. And because the glitch is triggered by saving in the wrong place, I can't just reload, either. That's all she wrote.
Now I know which save point causes the glitch and why, at least.

Coaxed the Wii back to life for the first time in a year and started Super Mario Galaxy afresh. I think it’s easily the best Mario game I’ve played.

For myself, I'm a bit aimless at the moment. I've been flipping between various racing games - Gran Turismo, NASCAR Heat, F1 2019, Project CARS etc. I am in the last teeny bit of Alien Isolation but I can only play it in small bursts because it's so stressful. I have also been dabbling in Batman: Arkham Origins because I plan on playing Arkham Knight soon and I never did get round to Origins. It seems pretty buggy. The first boss fight is against Killer Croc. On my first attempt I guess Batman punched him so hard he fell through the ground and the game seized up. Second time around I beat him but he kept turning invisible every few seconds.

Best horror game I've played in a long, long time. The sound design alone is enough to stress me out. All those thumps and clanking noises - is it the space station falling apart? Some kind of machinery? Or is the Alien following me from the vents? You never know. So you're exactly right. I never feel safe and I'm always on the verge of panic in that game
