Big Finish posted this on their twitter just now, the implication it's just for this year.
Perhaps something big is gonna drop in september?

oh....not sure what to make of this....
feels like they have done this to replace the old subscriber bonus disk
now if only they would do 13 a year subs!
but not a terrible move.

I think you're right, removing the subscriber disc left a gap and moving this back helps fill it. I think September is likely to see another Third Doctor box set (or I hope it is anyway)

I'm only surprised it didn't happen sooner - September was jam-packed in 2015. Hoaching with Who.

The double release month moving from September to December makes so much sense. Not a change I'd be opposed to on a permanent basis.

Interestingly both VORTEX and several Tweets last Year implied MR 217 would be significant and long-remembered if they could pull it off.
By rescheduling to October will it be overshadowed by the final Confessions Boxset, Charley Boxset 2, Doom Coalition 3 and J&L 12?

With Eight's story not fully told and his connection to the revival series, his releases are always going to overshadow the Main Range. But otherwise, I don't think so - I'd imagine there's a fair bit of corelation between audiences who enjoy Jago and Litefoot and the main range! By the sounds of things, the release itself will be be attention grabbing enough for more casual and new customers who would be intrested in the main range.

I'm sure Big Finish are also accounting for word of mouth as well: Big Finish did what? to compensate for the heavy intrest in Doom Coliation release, as well.

Big Finish posted this on their twitter just now, the implication it's just for this year. Perhaps something big is gonna drop in september? I don't subscribe to the main range, but I can understand why this announcement may have annoyed/surprised others...September is a fairly jam packed month already, so moving back the additional Sep M.R release will draw more attention to release 217, which B.F have teased will be something special and will probably want to keep mysterious/hype until nearer the release date. On the plus side, that means 2 main range stories for December, a great way to see in Christmas. My hope/prediction? (well, more of the former) A one off return of McGann to the main range to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the TV Movie (I did ask B.F on Facebook whether they had any more surprises in store for the 8th Doctor this year, they didn't confirm anything either way, but certainly hinted more surprises could be possible...)

December will be busy as well, with an additional Main Range, two Novel Adaptations (one of which is the unannounced three disc title), a Counter-Measures box set and the second season of Omega Factor.

Big Finish posted this on their twitter just now, the implication it's just for this year. Perhaps something big is gonna drop in september? We would be due a limited edition deluxe box set in September. Since Sept 2014 there has been a limited edition deluxe box set every 4 months
Sep 14 - Worlds of DW Jan 15 - Romance of Crime / English Way of Death May 15 - Damaged Goods / Well Mannered War Sep 15 - 6th Dr Last Adventure Jan 16 - Prisoner Series 1 May 16 - 10th Dr Adventures Sep 16 - ??
If I had to guess at an unannounced special I would say BF might mark the 50th anniversary of the Cybermen?
Even if not as a deluxe box set I think the Cyber anniversary will be marked in some way, the other possibility is the Early Adventures could depict the Doctor's "first" meeting with the Cybermen. He seems to know a lot about Mondas in the Tenth Planet and there is nothing in that story to explicitly state he had never met them before.

Maybe Big Finish want to make September an 'event' month? Two big attention grabbing Doctor Who releases, the return of a well-loved series with two well-loved characters by fandom, Charley's return, the return of Graceless and if The Early Adventures are going to be First Doctor based this year, (that Facebook announcement about The Second Doctor did kind of murky the waters), we'll be hearing Jemma Powell's Bababara- it's not a bad lineup for publicity.

By comparison this Summer/ Early Autumn is a drought so far 10 less releases confimed for the June-September period then last year. Excellent news... More time to slowly enjoy Big Finish's wonderful output, less expenditure, more time to listen to other ranges, catch-up on Big Finish back catalogue, etc.

Maybe, actually looking at their website September currently looks kind of bare. December now looks really busy.

I didn't see anyone mention it but Big Finish also confirmed it would be two adventures for the Sixth Doctor in December.

Perhaps Big Finish are planning ahead to next year when they can release a trilogy end story release and have a multi story release with a linking narrative of Christmas!
It has already been teased that they have some Christmas short trips coming, at least one of which I would guess will be out this year. Plus I still have my fingers crossed for a Jago & Litefoot Christmas special this year.
