Having shattered my ankle an being mostly bedridden for months towards the end of last year, I can relate to how awful it can be - but you'll never read so much and listen to so much in your life!
I hope it's a smooth op and that the hospital food is OK!

I wish you a speedy recovery Tin Dog, it is totally mad when an accident suddenly changes things in an instant, and normal life is very suddenly put on hold!
I was off work for 10 weeks with a snapped leg - my own goalie landed on my knee as i was attempting to hoof a clearance. The players carried me off the pitch and i was so spaced out on endorphins i ended up watching the rest of the game before going to the hospital.
Good luck mate.

They moved my ward last night. Apparently I'm mrsa free.
I've signed the surgical papers and I've got a huge black arrow drawn on my leg.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Mon, 18 January 2016 Im in hospital Last wednesday i was run over while walking to work. My left leg is broken below the knee in two places and the knee has about as much cartlage left as batman... Im still in hospital and awating a specialist to screw it all back together again. I should have the operation tomorrow.. and yes its a relaitively minor operation... but its still an operation and im just a touch worried. I had my audio recorder in my bag when i was hit and ive not had a chance to test it yet. Though it looks like my bad or my head removed the womans wing mirror. Both are in need of tlc. So I just wanted to take this oportunity to say a big thank you.... you know... just incase you dont hear from me... at all... Thanks fir being witb me for 10 years Thanks to all the friends ive made through podcasting and Doctor Who. Thanks to the other podcasters for entertainment and argument. Thanks to all the celebs that have been here and chatted. Thank you to my wife and Daughter who I love with all my hearts But... Thank you. Listners. You have made it worth while. And ive NEVER ment this as much as I mean it righr now... BE SEEING YOU.

Now then Tin Dog dont get all maudlin on us now, you will be fine mate.
You are having a leg op so be prepared to be very sore afterwards, and if anything like I was, very spaced out on morphine for a day or two. The surgeons are very good though mate so good luck and keep the faith.

I take it a Bionic Leg wasn't an option?
Best of wishes, and glad you're finally getting something done.
