After the relisten throng of Bloodlust... I thought I would do the Full Cast recordings.
This was an excellent way to reboot the series as well as resurrecting our new Barnabas. Kudos Andrew Collins!
I believe we had a separate feed for each release in the original forums. Forgive if this is a repeat or unnecessary.
Hugztite.

Well, it looks as if we are starting up on a group listen-thru of the post-Bloodlust audios next. Too bad you are starting these now because I'm sure we'll get them in a future group listen soon, as I believe we're going to get to them all eventually. So far, we've done all of 1971-1973, all of Tony & Cassandra, and all of Bloodlust. Next up, all of post-Bloodlust, and there has been talk of all of Quentin, then all of full casts 1 & 2. So, if you can wait for us, at the very least, I'll do it with you. If not, I understand--and certainly go ahead!

I might have listened to most of the audio dramas, particularly the older ones, "umpteen million squared times" already. I've only just recently decided it's time to branch out and add audible audio books to the mix, though plenty of time for the Dark Shadows stories nevertheless.

Listening to these early audios again reminds me why I fell in love with Dark Shadows. It wasn't the television series, but these audios - the TV shows DVDs came afterwards! But the notion of coming home, revisiting the old house, hearing Maggie and Quentin reuniting ... and Willie too. Mad old Willie Loomis. The new audios are wonderful, and Bloodlust is a triumph of course ... but these early, haunting, melancholic releases are brilliant too.

I loved the mournful piano that ran through several stories, it really gave the early audios a sense of sinister melancholy. Especially with this story - a story of returning to the family home and finding no cheer there. Beautiful stuff.

And what a beautiful, haunting audio this is. A fine way to begin the full-cast dramatisations. Stuart Manning wrote some amazing stuff.

I've decided to try Dark Shadows, but am not sure where to start. Is House of Despair the best introduction or should I start elsewhere?

As a previous Newbie i had heard Bloodlust first but it would be better to start there you will love it.After Blood Lust and Kindgdom of the Dead series i just picked random stories and loved them all Attachment Deleted this was a good guide if you want to follow in some sort of order

The House By the Sea might be a good one? Colin Baker starts off new in Collinsport and you get to meet some of the townsfolk along with him if you haven't met them before.

The House by the Sea is an excellent place to start.
But this month being able to buy Bloodlust for 99p/99c per episode is ideal. And episode one is free so you can do the first two very cheaply and see if you want to go further.
