So we're losing the Liberator Chronicles? How does that bode for the entire range I wonder? The full cast range is excellent. Are we to see The Scorpio Chronicles? (Something I'd love to see, expecially since Glynnis Barber said she'd be up for it)
Thoughts?

For some reason, I was under the recent impression that there would be more Liberator Chronicles after volume 12; however, from this news announcement today, we officially now know that will not be the case. At least we can all take comfort knowing (?) that there are more planned full cast Blake's 7 audios on the way, as was revealed by Cavan Scott on a recent podcast. Here's to hoping for a Scorpio Chronicles series and count me in as a buyer for it!

I thought they has announced that this would be the final Liberator Chronicles some time ago. I could of course be wrong. And based on all reports Scorpio isn't anywhere close to happening. The rights continue to be a exploding minefield.

I assume (probably wrongly!) that The Liberator Chronicles are ending due to low sales. I would love for someone to tell me I'm wrong, because they are utterly brilliant. If the full casts are the way forward, then the reason can't be actor availability. Unless some similar audios are going to be introduced, that doesn't infringe any rights, but doesn't limit the stories to the first three series? That would be wonderful.

Liberator chronicles are very expensive for what they are. Compare with the second doctor companion chronicles set coming out this summer, it's much better value. Liberator is 20 for 3 stories, DW is 15 for 4. No apparent reason why.

Liberator is 20 for 3 stories, DW is 15 for 4. No apparent reason why. Like anything, most things can be argued. You're not going to find too many new Big Finish releases that are less than 7.99 (download) for an hour-long story. From the hindsight of the regular Companion Chronicles (1-8) series not *overly* selling well. Those First and Second Doctor sets are uniquely priced lower than the norm. With a crystal ball should Big Finish have priced the Liberator Chronicles at a lower price tag? Perhaps...

It may not be low sales so much as lower sales than the full cast stories. Full cast may involve much more expense and complication with the actors, but the writing and production costs would surely be comparable so the Chronicles may not give the same return on Big Finish's time and money.
It could also be the case that for many Big Finish fans Blakes 7 is only a secondary interest and if too much is made it might exceed their "not Doctor Who" budget.

I like both the chronicles and full cast but if I had to choose between them then it's full cast everytime

A real shame, as I FAR prefer the Liberator Chronicles to the full cast. Id struggle to think of a story that I havent enjoyed (and there would be a handful or less that are anything other than outstanding). With the full cast stories it has been more the other way around - they've been fine (of course) but there are only a few that stick in the mind.

I'm pretty sure the news story six months or so ago about the return of B7 audios said this was to be the last LC box. And Cav repeated this at BFDay so theree was a flurry of comment on here again. And I'm afraid he said at the same time no series D unless he can sort out the rights, which he keeps trying to do but hasn't been successful yet.

I'm pretty sure the news story six months or so ago about the return of B7 audios said this was to be the last LC box. I remember that occurring along with the prior notification that some of the Big Finish Blake's 7 products are now fair game to go out of print. However, my active imagination thought with Paul Darrow ready to go again, the full cast adventures and the Liberator Chronicles would be amended to continue. Bottom line, I was wrong.

I think it's the B7 media relaunch audios that could go out of print. They're clearly not part of Big Finish's vision for the range going forward so I can't imagine them reprinting once they sell out.

As far as I am aware of, these earliest release Blake's 7 books and CDs will eventually be going out of print.

Oh apart from the books, I'm fine with them going download only, but I hadn't realised it would be so wide reaching.

When BF had the sale on the first six Liberator Chronicles[/b] and the redo by B7 Media several months ago they said that once the physical products sold out they would not be repressed.

Becoming download only is far more palatable (o me anyway), and is, after all, just what they've done with the first 50 main range titles. Definitely an incentive for people to get the first six lib chronicles on the bundle offer if they haven't already.

I missed this news until just now.
It's only just over a year ago when I first began watching B7. I then devoured the Big Finish material. I even liked the B7-Media stuff which I got when it went on sale last year.
Still, I think I liked Liberator Chronicles material the best - it was very well done and I, for one, will miss them.
I'll still be buying whatever BF produces in the B7 range.
