We've got a DC thread. May as well have a Marvel. Let's kick t off with today's trailer for Daredevil Season 2. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5_A0Wx0jU4We'll be able to watch it all in a month!

I'm anticipating Daredevil season 2 greatly. Season 1 is brilliantly done and is, for my money, the best thing to come out of Marvel's shared universe so far. I'm deliberately avoiding watching trailers and seeing images so it'll be fresh when I watch it next month, but I'm very keen to see Punisher and Elektra in the mix as they're among my favorite comic book characters. Season 1 of Jessica Jones is also fantastic. I wasn't terribly familiar with the character before I saw it, but I'm 100% on board for season 2 of that show as well.
My only complaint about Jessica Jones was the awkward effort in the last episode to connect it to Daredevil. I felt that detracted from the momentum of the conclusion of the season 1 storyline. Otherwise, though, top marks for both shows.

I have read Alias, the orginal Jessic Jones series but I've not read a single panel of Pulse, her next series. I really should get on that. Thanks for the reminder! I've been a huge Frank Castle and Matt Murdock fan since I was a kid so to get this classic teamup/initial rivalry is like manna from heaven for me. Nothing in comics ever galvanised me as much as Garth Ennis' early 2000s run on Punisher. I used to go in late to University to pick up issues I'm very, very much looking forward to next month. It's crazy how doing a Series 2 for DD and JJ was not on the ards but both of them were such smash hits that they got greenlit ASAP. I hope that doesn't push The Defenders or Iron Fist back too much! I think Luke Cage is in pre-production already.

I agree about Garth Ennis on Punisher. His run on that character is so raw. I've read through it several times and it's always powerful stuff. I'm also a big Daredevil fan and when these two characters clash it's always rich with dramatic tension and interesting ideas about justice and vigilantism.
I'm going to pick up Alias/Jessica Jones at some point soon and read through it. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the show is. A large part of my initial interest in it I attribute to David Tennant producing such an interesting screen presence, but the writing is also just so strong on the show. They got a lot of mileage out of their exploration of abuse and control.

Season 2 of Daredevil is on my must watch list; I will probably binge watch this and complete the second season in a week, as the first season was so damn good. For me Daredevil was the best of the Marvel TV shows, so far. Now we will have the excellent Jon Bernthal as The Punisher too, so I am expecting some fireworks of the highest order in the second season!

I stopped reading comics right around the time he began his run on Punisher. I guess I should pick it up and give it a try. I also really loved Jessica Jones and what I've seen of Daredevil. I hate to say that I didn't get a chance to finish it but I plan to soon.

So Kurt Russell is joining Guardians 2 - pretty cool news. Will be nice to see him in his first big budget sci-fi since...dear God....Soldier.

The latest Agent Carter, Life of the Party, was interesting {Spoiler} There's a bit of reality creeping in with Peggy out of action from last episode and her circle of friends being so small that she needs to spring Dottie from prison just to get a woman on the board. Thompson is clearly showing some doubts about dealing with Peggy, and Vernon Masters is more savvy than we'd like him to be. I predicted Whitney would become a bigger threat than the Council of Nine, now she's got the remaining five of them under her thumb. Is Whitney aware Dottie has seen her abilities, or wants her to test her Zero Matter abilities on? Will the growing Zero Matter scar convince Whitney to where a mask, and become Madam Masque?

Tried watching Agent Carter, but apart from Hayley Atwell the series doesn't seem to have much going for it... it's nowhere near as good as Daredevil and Jessica Jones anyway. I struggled with the first season and have given up on it after the first episode of the current season. So for me, Agent Carter is a big yawn. I'm glad some people like it though... and Hayley Atwell is lovely!

I understand filming clashed with his upcoming adaptation of Preacher so Season 2 has hardly featured him (and when it has, they've overdone the Howard Hughes parallels a bit). I also think James D'arcy is guilty of thinking because he's in a comic-derived environment he should play it very broadly. So Jarvis doesn't quite work here. Atwell nails Peggy though. Just a shame it looks like the plug will be pulled before we get SHIELD proper.

I think it was a mistake to have Agent Carter air on Fox TV over here in the UK and not a Freeview channel. Many of us who watch Agents of SHIELD haven't been able to watch it because the idiots at Fox won't make their channel available on at least Freesat.

Looks like, as has been thought, Agent Carter is now done as a show. A shame as we all expected it to be about the founding of SHIELD and then it...wasn't.
Also in doubt is the Most Wanted spinoff featuring Mockingbird and Lance Hunter. Can't say I'll mourn that if true as they were usually the dullest part of Agents Of SHIELD anyway.

It's a Disney decision not to release them on disc for whatever reason. I guess they want them to pull people onto the subscription model that will, ultimately continue to fund Luke Cage, The Defenders, Jessica Jones 2, Iron Fist and The Punisher. It's not Netflix's decision, other exclusive shows like Orange Is The New Black, Arrested Devlopment and House Of Cards come to disc no problem so it's clearly Disney/Marvel Studios.
A real shame as I've got all the MCU on bluray down to the tv shows and not having Daredevil and Jessica Jones grates - especially since they may be the best of all of them.

It's up there with the best of the MCU. On par with Daredevil (which imo is the best thing to emerge from the MCU so far).

It's amazing, and the darkness of the characters will really appeal to you.

They are currently filming the pilot to Most Wanted, so if that does well they will go to a series, otherwise it'll just be a One-off special

Yes, we've known that they're making the pilot for months, the news this week was that ABC have cooled on it and don't think that it has legs at all.
Carter made the dumb move of telling the wrong story. We wanted to get the founding of SHIELD, not generic spy-show. It was a strong generic spy-show to be sure but it rarely felt even remotely connected to the Marvel universe despite the odd Easter Egg. The one-shot Agent Carter film on the Iron Man 3 bluray moves her story along more in 5 minutes than 2 series of the TV show.
