Shell Game Vala and Daniel Jackson together are great. Feels just like episode of the show and made me laugh a lot.
Feeling a bit guilty not listening to more stuff. Just since new site made it harder to find stuff I tend to give up when looking. Guess I have to learn patience.

Tartarus
Cicero returns! in a splendid Five story which crosses all sorts of genre 'boundaries' and combines them all, brilliantly, into one great story. I enjoyed the scenario and dialogue very much and the cast did it beautifully - with one surprise guest star when I heard the credits. Following the Sixie/Peri trilogy, another one in a strong run for the MR.

Back to the Dark Shadows. Within spitting distance of clearing the backlog of titles I currently own in these particular range(s), so at some point today it'll be a first run through A Collinwood Christmas (as you do in early January), Beneath The Veil and The Enemy Within. Onto the final three today - starting shortly with 'The Flip Side', jumping ahead to 'Curtain Call' later on and finishing the day off with 'Beyond The Grave'...

THE FLIP SIDE-one of my top favourites along with Panic and Beyond the Grave, what can one say about the final moments of that one but truly CHILLING.

Any good? I never got that one, never tickled my fancy. Also does not get a lot of positive reviews...

It’s fine. Nothing brilliant but passable. It is one of the few times though I’ve been completely unconvinced by the worldbuilding they present us with in the story. To be honest, I wouldn’t really recommend any of the Mel/Ace stories.

It got one from me! It was Mark (I think) who said it was 'Paradise Towers done right' and that summed the style up for me perfectly. I really enjoyed it

...Ish
Hrmm. Well, this one is certainly a weird idea. It's very much suited to Colin Baker's Doctor, and his dialogue is very much an enjoyable voyage 'round the English language, as Banto put it. And making language and speech the core concept should fit the audio medium very well, much like Whispers of Terror's sound creature. Which, come to think of it, is the last time Peri was paired up with Sixie. I guess she's too busy with Five and Erimem otherwise.
Anyway, I had thought that such a weird, audio-specific idea would surely result in a weird story with unique sound design. Instead, I'm afraid this one didn't quite spark the imagination. It's nowhere near as moody or evocative as the aforementioned Whispers and on the whole devolved into a pretty standard Doctor Who complete with ranting bad guy. Only instead of wanting to destroy the planet, he wants to destroy language. Okay.
The real fun here is listening to Colin Baker talk, with Book as runner up. Outside of that, it's alright, but it gives me that feeling of unfulfilled potential - the ideas sound interesting on paper but in practice never quite came alive for me.

Working through "Lords of the Red Planet" (old LS one I'd skipped on false premises).
Finished "The Dark Planet" the day before.

Finished Prisoners of the Lake and was pleasantly surprised. The story was interesting and atmospheric and Jo and Mike were used well. The Doctor/ narration is also well implemented and does not get in the way of the flow of the story. I can already say that I liked this more than the second volume. I also made it into the beginning of Havoc of Empires and it is just fun banter between Jo, Mike and the Doctor. Using the TARDIS to travel to a romantic date is a great idea.

The Diary Of River Song 1
After enjoying 7 so much i went back again as i loved the first series and to be honest i think it would have done very well without McGann being in it.Don’t get me wrong, great selling point to get the range off the ground. But River Song is such a great character away from her husband.Samuel West and Alexander Vlahos and the rest of the supporting cast sell it .Put River in any era she doesn’t need The Doctor she only becomes a damsel in distress when she decides that she should be,i think she knows most times she would cope on her own but isnt afraid to share the glory.

Yes but wasn’t that more present day not in the 3rd Doctor series Timeline. Am not much into timelines . I like Mike in the Hornets nest type stories and hope he returns along with Benton into the adventures, mind you with such a large regular cast it becomes restrictive in story telling having them all in one tale less money for Extras lol

‘E is For...’ A terrific Companion Chronicle with some great nods towards the X-Men and the superhero genre in general. Definitely worth a re listen down the road if only to catch some of the references that I am sure I missed. Also, the character of Weapon E is definitely one that seems suited for spin-off material.
‘Daughter of the Gods’ Yet another great story from newcomer David K Barnes who is quickly becoming one of my favourite Big Finish writers. I hope to see much more from him in the future.

(The only defence of Exile I'll accept is if NB wrote it as a result of a bet with GR while both were intoxicated) Regards mark687
