I thought it was blooming awful, and that's coming from someone who likes Nekronamtia! 😂 I didn't know anybody liked that one. But yeah, I can easily see how Rapture would drive someone up the wall, I think I was just lucky I was too bored to care that much. I think I'm one of the few that like it!! 😂

I've always flirted with listening to this one, maybe I should pluck up the courage to give it a go. Rapture or Nekromanteia? Nekromanteia deserves its reputation as one of the worst ever. I dread my impending re-listen, it's coming up the order fast... Rapture is just mediocre in my opinion. Either way, enter at your own risk...

I think I'm one of the few that like it!! 😂 I don't really like Nekromanteia but I admire its guts. I always like stories that aim to do something different and are aiming for something bigger. The middle of the road ones are what kill me. I do, however like Rapture quite a lot. I had a smashing chat with Joe Lidster on the old forum about it and we got realy into the inspirations and what not. It was a lot of fun. In retrospect I'm not sure I love what it does with Ace but again...at least it was doing something beyond what the show was. Thinking about trying new things. But hey....I'm someone who thinks Excelis Dawns is one the best things BF have ever done so what do I know?

One review was it was written by a Doctor Who fan's idea of what rave culture is/was, but in reality they hadn't a clue. As for Nekromenteia, I'm not bothered about any slightly risky or ill-advised scenes. It was just a bit of a mess in terms of both story and production and I never even made it past part 2!

‘Oh No, It Isn’t!’ “Oh yes, it is!” Sorry..I just couldn’t resist. Perhaps one of the best audios Big Finish has to offer and so early in their catalogue as well. Not sure how well this would come across to the international crowd, perhaps unfamiliar with panto, but I thought it was a wonderful and loving ode to the theatrical tradition. Pure unadulterated fun and there’s nothing wrong with that. Would highly recommend. Top marks all around. Well, I tried it since I like Benny... and I have to say that it did not really excite me. I think a lot of the humur is just passing way over my head. No idea what that panto thing is (well, I understand the concept, but do not "get" it).
But that is fine. Not every sort of humor enjoyed by one nationality would work with other nationalities.
I absolutely love and adore one of the most successful German comedy movies of all time, Shoe of the Manitou (I am not even sure it has ever traveled beyond the border). I think it would be pretty inaccessible for anyone who has not grown up here.

That’s fair enough and I am glad you gave it a go at least.

What is not to love? Well, if you love Iris that is.

Oh No It Isn't, for me, worked as a novel but not as an audio.

ADAM ADAMANT-for the fourth time.
I cannot really express what I feel about this set of stories but this has to be one of the best acted BF releases I have heard it has heart and soul and mind believe me I expected CHEESY but have been proved way way wrong. One of the most enjoyable releases I have ever heard. Great writing from Guy Adams(and acting) and wonderful directing from Nick Briggs a great collaboration of talents and a dream guest cast and main cast of characters...Dont rely on the trailer it is SOOOOO much more.

Moonflesh, bought in this weeks sale.
I've always been curious about this one, partly because it has a good synopsis/blurb and secondly due to the fairly low score on the **********.com.
A bit like Land of the Dead, I know it isn't a classic but hey I quite enjoyed it, glowing red blob of energy and all.
I'm not quite sure what Hannah Bartholomew's accent was though, like a faux-posh Henry Gordon Jago. Very strange. And was it just me or in parts was she ever so slightly kinky? As for Silver Crow, I thought John Banks did just fine as a Sioux and Tim Benticks character was larger than life as the Great White Hunter.
A bit dull? Maybe. But at least I made it through this one unlike quite a few others. A middling 6 out of 10.

Apologies for barging in on the Adam Adamant Appreciation Society (which I'm sure is valid) but speaking of the **********.com there are some classics on there, and I'm not talking about the stories.
My personal favourites are:
How does anyone get in the army if they have such a fear of water that they can't have a bath? There was some very overt flirting going on at the start of the story between Hannah and Phoebe Whitlock, which for some reason I found uncomfortable, in a sort of lesbian-style grooming scene.
Utter mystical nonsensical cobblers.

Not listening to nearly enough lately for attempting a lot of "thinking work" which means I'd be missing 3/4 of what happens, but I did take time for the first story from the new 4DAs which I can't praise enough, and the first story from the Captain John set, which deserves some high praise too. It managed to be tons of fun while still having a serious story going on, which I always think is a tall order. Sometimes stories that are too much fun just start to seem a bit too silly (Quantum Probability Engine?), but not this one.

Since I am in a not very good mood at the moment and just do not feel like exploring new things... went to bed last night with "The Ultimate Evil". Mindless, hammy and cheesy fun. No brain needed. And the voices of the leads are just soothing.
