For the past two years Titan has taken over from IDW in producing new comic strips. Doctors Ten through Twelve each have their own monthly ranges with mini-series for the Ninth, Eighth and Fourth Doctors, with the Ninth Doctor getting a monthly range. The Eighth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors also have original companions.
My recommendations: I can only really speak for the Tenth, Ninth and Eighth Doctor runs. Tenth Doctor probably had its high with Weeping Angels of Mons. The arc concluding Year One (collected in Fountains of Forever) is interesting, but mileage may vary for different people. The Year Two arc is a bit strange in that it's harkening back to that Fountains of Forever arc when Year Two was marketed as a jumping on point. Depending on how the next issue turns out, I may or may not drop this.
Ninth Doctor arc Weapons of Mass Destruction is excellent, written by Cavan Scott and featuring Rose and Captain Jack as companions. They're back in their own monthly range soon. If the quality keeps up, I'll definitely be subscribing to this.
Eighth Doctor mini-series is decidedly meh, definitely the least impressive of the Titan output. It's five individual stories instead of an arc, which may please people who don't like how comics are written as multi-issue arcs for the trade paper/hard backs nowadays, but there's something off about how the Eighth Doctor is written and drawn and the new companion falls worryingly into generic companion until the big reveal in issue #5.
The Four Doctors mini-series is another meh (a meh above Eighth Doctor at least). It's not the worst multi-Doctor story (that dubious honor goes to The Eight Doctors) and it's great if you know your continuity.
If the Fourth Doctor mini-series is any good (it's got Sarah Jane and set in Victorian London), I'll be dropping Tenth Doctor because I can't afford three different ranges (as well as the DC stuff I'm reading).
Sorry if there's a thread already, the search function is playing up and I didn't want to sidetrack the Favorite Audio Historicals thread any more than I have already.

As of now, I've only read the first issue of The Eleventh Doctor #1, the first issue of The Ninth Doctor #1, and all of The Tenth Doctor #1. Of them, I'd say my favorite is easily The Eleventh Doctor - what I've read so far has captured the energy of Matt Smith's seasons and brought in a lovely companion in Alice. I'll definitely be finishing that series. I'm interested in picking up the rest of The Ninth Doctor series as well. What I've read so far has been pretty enjoyable.
As for The Tenth Doctor... It's not keeping me hooked. Really, it got so needlessly wordy at times - unnatural, even - and sometimes the characterization for Gabby and her family felt stilted. I've only read the first volume, so it could very well pick up later on, but I'm not sure if it's worth the time or money.

Annnnd, now I've read The Fourth Doctor #1. I will say, I think it did a fine job replicating the feel of Classic Who. You really can't go all that wrong with a Fourth Doctor story set in Victorian England.

You really can't go all that wrong with a Fourth Doctor story set in Victorian England. I bet they'll turn the 4th Doctor into an ongoing series. Maybe with alternating companions - Sarah Jane for Year One, Leela for Year Two, Romana 1 and K9 for Year Three, Romana 2 and K9 for Year Four and Adric and Tegan for Year Five.

I wonder if they'll ever consider a War Doctor miniseries?

I wonder if they'll ever consider a War Doctor miniseries? Oh, undoubtedly. Depending on their stable of writers there's a lot you can do with him and since he's virtually an empty slate, it'd be in their interests to get in early while they can.

For the next few months they'll be juggling five different ranges (Four, Nine-Twelve) and don't have the best track record for sticking to scheduled release dates, so War Doctor is probably after The Fourth Doctor.

That sounds like a perfectly fair assessment, my gut feeling is that they'll probably go for a limited miniseries. It's difficult to gauge what the demand for the War Doctor is at the moment; a lot of people I've seen have leapt on the opportunity, others have just quietly let it slide without comment. He's been very polarising. On a more extreme front, I've seen people refuse to pick up a story because it has a reference to him in it.

I've only recently had a chance to read any of the Titan comics. I got volume 1 of the Tenth Doctor for Christmas and enjoyed it a great deal. I have volumes 2 & 3 coming in the mail. Also pre ordered the first volumes of Four, Eight and Nine. I'll pick up a volume of Twelve soon, too, I expect.
For some reason, the art for Eleven doesn't look right to me so I've been reluctant to pick it up.

I like the 11th Doctor but I think they need to stop making him so miserable and brooding. I'm not sure seeing the 11th Doctor constantly blaming himself for everything and going into a sulk because the TARDIS keeps rejecting him makes for the most enjoyable read.

Why would you pass on a story featuring a Doctor played by John Hurt? It's more they don't like the character of the War Doctor or what he represents. Fans can be strange that way, going out of their way to avoid anything they don't like and vocally excluding it from their head canon (by vocally I mean denouncing it to other people either online, around other people or both). Back on the old forum it was impossible to get any interesting conversation on a topic Magnus Magistar decided he had to demolish one side of, the thread on the topic of season 6B needing the mods to intervene and even then Magnus was still adamant that there is no such thing as 6B. Gallifrey Base has many users who are vocal about why they hate River, Clara, Missy or Moffat's work on the show in recent years in general. The day Chris Chibnall was announced as the next showrunner there was bile aplenty saying Chibnall must go. When you have the internet, you'll get the trolls and the haters. Thankfully we've avoided that here, the mods haven't had to reprimand anyone (that I'm aware of) in the six months or so Divergent Universe has been in operation. We even got through series 9 without any major anti-Moffat incidents. Just ignore any trolls and haters, you can't do anything to stop them (you could report them to the moderator of the forum or comment board) and responding to them just fuels them further. The comics are very much a niche market, you only buy them if you're interested in the characters and the stories being told (sometimes the creative teams are also a factor). Don't like the War Doctor? Don't buy the comic and everyone goes home happy. Especially the wallet.

You can often differentiate the trolls from people actually willing to have a conversation or a friendly debate with you by the phrases "in my opinion", "personally" or any other acknowledgement that it's their own personal opinion. I personally am not a fan of the War Doctor idea as a concept because of how it doesn't square away with the era it's trying to partially rewrite (John Hurt is absolutely marvellous though), but I'm not going to go out of my way to make sure you don't enjoy it as well. That's just silly. And peculiar. Not to mention really confusing. People are allowed, nay encouraged to have, hold and share their own views. It's what makes the forums so interesting. (Also, if you're faint of heart I'd recommend avoiding Gallifrey Base altogether, my experiences on there have been really rather... nasty. It's a pretty damn toxic place if you don't know how to navigate around, much like walking down an unlit alleyway in a shady downtown crime spot.) Cards on the table, I don't like the tenth Doctor. It might be a case of depends on the writer, I found the latter-day Scott Grey comics written for the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who Magazine rather enjoyable because of their gloomy atmosphere. Things got pretty morose around Eleven and Clara. Not Virgin New Adventures guns, frocks and all the angst you can eat morose, but still it was further than I thought the comics had been willing to push at that point. And very different to Grey's run on the Eighth Doctor's comic stories.

I can understand hating certain characters but totally disregarding a Doctor as if that incarnation doesn't exist just seems like people are taking Name of the Doctor too seriously IMO. And completely ignoring half of a series because you don't like it is very extreme.

There's definitely a market for War Doctor stories, Big Finish has proved that. Some aspects of the Time War could work well in comic strip form (there's a twist from the last story in the most recent War Doctor Box Set that would have made a great comic book cliffhanger) although I do believe audio is the best medium for Time War stories because there's so much left to the imagination. There are fans who weren't satisfied with how the Time War was realised in The Day of the Doctor.
Personally, I'd rather the Eighth Doctor mini-series had been set when he was skirting the edges of the Time War, trying to save the victims while not getting involved in the actual conflict. Maybe he picks up a companion who isn't aware of the Time Lord's reputation and learning about it changes how s/he sees the Doctor, becoming disillusioned by him or being killed because of their association with him. There's potential in the collateral damage and how that poisons the reputation of the Time Lords. It's not just people who are affected, but whole planets like the homeworld of the Nestenes or the Gelth. How would a sentient planet react? What kinds of races are forced into a hopeless exodus because of the Time War?
