Hello again. With the news that a certain East Midlands football team has won the English Premier footie league I wondered if anyone had spotted the League of Fandoms. The Radio Times website is the home of some the most entertaining sci-themed news and time-wasting quizzes around. In its infinite wisdom it has created a fantasy fandom league. As if sci-fi and fantasy fans aren't tribal enough, you want them to fight it out in a Hunger Games style fight to the death?! "Does your fandom have what it takes to go the distance and win the league?" the league webpage trumpets. www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-04-18/radio-times-league-of-fandomsIt all happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 17th May at 4pm BST. Doctor Who is in Division 1 alongside the usual suspects Stars Trek and Wars, The 100, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Outlander, Sherlock and yes you guessed it Poldark?! As my name suggests I do indeed live in Kernow and was highly amused by the latest adaptation of Winston Graham's saga. Not a patch on the 1970s version. My Mum was obsessed with the original, so much so our tortoiseshell kitten was called Demelza, try calling that out at night! For those who are bothered by such things Doctor Who's results are played 5, won 3, lost 2, points 9 and currently fourth in the table below aforementioned Cornish saga. Team Doctor are due to face off against Team Trek on Thursday 5th May at 4pm. I'm afraid I'm distinctly underwhelmed by the whole enterprise. Still trying to get through my Sixth Doctor audio marathon.

Hello again. Welcome to Fandom's League of the Day. Well its been an exciting(!) season in the inaugural Radio Times League of Fandoms. Division One ended with one show unbeaten in nine matches. Poldark, the runner up by three points. Poldark fans rallied behind their show after losing the first match with only 20% of the total vote.
Doctor Who's fans had some narrow victories over Game of Thrones and Star Wars and lost by 5% to Supernatural. The Doctor's team finished one place above the relegation zone on 9 points.
Three sides move down to division 2. The 100 with 0 points, Supernatural with 6 points and Game of Thrones(!) with 9 points.
Division 2 results: Banished (?) 24 points and Division 2 champions Hannibal. Both teams face the likes of Star Trek and Harry Potter next season in Division 1.
And finally, congratulations to the unbeaten fandom that follows the show Outlander. With huge percentage wins over other shows, Outlander are this year's League of Fandoms Champions. Goodbye for now and see you next season...no, really?

Hello there. Radio Times is back with a Festive League of Fandoms. Dr Who was close to the relegation zone in the summer campaign.
This festive league has a daily task where each fandom competes to gain points. Yesterday's task was to pick team captain and this finishes 1pm GMT today.
That's all for now. I'll be back with updates when I can. Let the games begin and may the gods be ever in our favour.

Hello again, just a quick list of shows involved. Less sci-fi more historical including Poldark, Victoria, Versailles, The Musketeers and Outlander. Merlin, Banished, Sherlock and army saga Our Girl make up the list of 13 shows in the Festive League.
Also, anyone heard of Wyonna Earp? It's also on the list.
Interesting mix, I wonder if anyone will take part in the busy build up to Christmas. Time will tell...

Hello again. Welcome to Sports Report. Thank you Mr. Ward that was quick work. I can't work out the results of the first challenges but tomorrow Thursday December 1st - Task #3 Fandoms Unite Each fandom will be given their very own Team Hub on RadioTimes.com and has 24 hours to get as many fans as possible to visit the page. The number of people on the page will be monitored across that time period and the team with the most visits to the page will win. Have fun...(!)

Hello again. Its time for the sport. The Radio Times League of Festive Fandom's has finished with a very unexpected winner. Like the unfancied Leicester City winning the Premiership it is Versailles that triumphed in the two week competition.
It was the runaway winner with 65 points, only Fifty Shades of Grey (?!) with 56 and Hannibal 52 came close. The big surprises were also to be found at the foot of the 13 team league with Sherlock scoring five points and dear old Doctor Who scoring 0. Yes there were no points scored by the veteran show.
Well bye until May when the new season begins. I can only assume that the fans of Sherlock and Doctor Who had better things to do! Christmas shopping, making mince pies, redecorating their mind palaces, listening to Big Finish or walking the rabbit perhaps...

Hello again. I have just noticed that everyone's favourite(!) fandom competition is back. The bad news is 12 teams will contest the league over the whole year! The winner to be crowned the league champions on December. The Radio Times is asking for nominations of favourite fandoms by 4pm on 20/01/17...
Shall I will keep you all updated as you are all waiting with baited breath for results or shall stop posting results as none of you are really interested?

Hello again. It looks like, Doctor Who will not be involved in this year's Radio Times League of Fandom's.
Doctor Who was 13th with 0.73% of the vote. However, Others polled 7.66%. This maybe split with several others so Who may squeak in. The top spot by miles went to Outlander.
Will let you know definitive outcome when I have it.

Hello again. Yes day three of Trumpton brings the not unexpected news that Dr. Who fans have more importance/interesting things to do than take part in online fantasy fandom leagues!
For those curious to know which shows will battle it out for the 2017 League of Fandoms title. They are: Outlander, Versailles, Poldark, Home Fires, Hannibal, Twin Peaks, Walking Dead, Merlin, Musketeers, Star Trek, Banished and The X Files.
So I am out of a job!! I hope my posts provided those very few who were interested a good service. Best wishes to you all and that's all folks...
