From DWM: Ravenous 4 and 8th Doctor Continued details (minor Ravenous 4 ending spoilers): Not all of the current TARDIS crew will make it to the end of Ravenous, but those who survive will appear in another four-volume storyline, Stranded. There’ll be an expanded cast of new and familiar recurring characters, including a new companion, and the style of storytelling will differ from both Doom Coalition and Ravenous. “I think both of them were very different beasts, but they’re quite epic in scale,” says David Richardson. “What I wanted to do in going beyond that was to bring it down quite a bit, just to concentrate on the drama and the characters, and give our actors some incredibly intimate material to play with.” Whilst there's many things that intrigue me (I'm worried for Helen and Liv), I'm mostly intrigued by the expanded cast notion. A twelve hour series called Stranded, sounds like Big Finish’s version of Lost. I hope they have a satisfying resolution planned. If they number the boxsets using Roman numerals the first set would be... STRANDED I Which would then be an anagram of TARDIS END So my guess is that the Doctor and his companion(s) don’t have the Tardis. They are stranded somewhere, escape (end of the first box?) and then have to travel by more conventional methods to search for their lost Tardis. That would be great. As I already had hoped for the TV series was that the Doctor would have to cope without his TARDIS for a while.
It did not happen. However, that would be a great way to shake up things a little and have a change in format. I am curious what they will come up with, but I certainly would be on board with that.

Always wary of KO'ing the TARDIS. As long as Stranded is more of a UNIT Family character useful type Arc then a Divergent Uselessverse character Arc it'll be fine.

Regards mark687 I think the idea of the Divergent Universe was fine. It was the execution that was sorely lacking. But hey, it gave us Scherzo, one of my all time greats. If they intend something along these lines, I am on board 110%.

If they intend something along these lines, I am on board 110%. and Natural History of Fear And Faith Stealer and The Last and Caerdroia. There's more hits than misses when you really think about it, the concept as a whole wasn't done well but 5/8 of the stories are at least good or better.

Blimey, the eighth Doctor gets stuck in places (twenty-second century Earth, Saudi prison, twentieth-century Earth, Divergent Earth, Orbis, the Consensus's sun) almost as often as he loses his memory!

I think it is very well written but in a lot of ways I think it pulled the curtain on Charley for me. Certainly on Charley and the 8th Doctor.

The problem with Scherzo is that it was not followed up accordingly. Something so deep and emotional should have had consequences. And see what we got as the next episode.... I think this is one of the reasons why the DU was considered as such a mixed bag. I think with a decent follow up story, the curtains would not have been down on Charley and the Doctor, at least that is my theory.
That is not to say I would have liked a mopey love story sit com instead (there is a reason I am not usually into that type of thing), but at least a carry-over of that character development and of the darker, terrified and nasty side of the Doctor (I do LOVE McGann when he plays evil).

mark687 Magnificent! I take it (from the 'face in the mirror' moment) this was just after he renegerated from the last of the "previous" Doctors seen in 'The Brain of Morbius'?
{Spoiler} And I loved the half-time ham sandwich 'violent exercise always makes me hungry'

Quite a few months back, it was mentioned on Sarah Grochala's website that she wrote a First Doctor play called The Hollow Crown (though we had no context in what format). I can't find the link now, but that's clearly it. Now the question is if this has been recorded for a while, or if it was just preemptively on her website. But the fact Ken Bentley's directing does indicate a 1DA, as he's not involved with EA/CC/Short Trips.

Specifically it says she's playing Judith Shakespeare! Neat. Very! I thought it must have a Shakespearean historical link from the title, but I guessed one/more of the 'kings' plays. Now it looks like it will involve the family life of the bard himself. Fascinating, fascinating! *grips lapels, peers over spectacles*
